I have several mini PCs I have purchased over the years, and this is the first one with enough graphical power to take when I am travelling to play games in the hotel.
The packaging is minimalistic- containing the computer, power cord, HDMI cable and the VESA mounting plate if you want to attach to the back of a monitor.
In my case, we bought two - one for me and one for my son to take on a few upcoming trips. I had a pair of portable monitors, and a fold up stand for them, so I thought the install should be quick and easy. However I found the smaller VESA mounting holes would not quite align with the bracket on hte monitor or the monitor stand, so I had to grind the holes inwards - about 1/8" each to get the bracket to align with the holes on the mount and monitor.
Otherwise - the install went great- windows 11 was pre-loaded with recent patches, and overall the machines work well. I was playing Warthunder at 90 FPS in medium settings on my wide screen (5120x1440) monitor , and it was even better on the portable monitor running at 2560x1600.
The CPU/GPU does get hot in these runs, hitting 85C, but this is an extreme case for a mini pc.
I have also tried the USB4 Port with an external GPU using a thunderbolt 3 EGPU adapter, and it worked flawlessly there as well.
All in all I am very happy with these units, and decided not to dock a star for the mounting hole issue

Der MiniPC ist sehr handlich und kompakt gebaut, passt in meine Hand und ist leicht. Klar, Plastik bzw. Kunststoff ist dabei, doch sieht er hochwertig aus und die Verarbeitung, soweit es sich mir erschließt, ist auch sehr gelungen.
Anschlüsse sind mehr als genug vorhanden. An der linken Seite ist ein SD-Kartenslot vorhanden, an der rechten Seite ein Kensington Security Lock, was sicherlich auch bei dem ein oder anderen Verwendung finden wird. An der Vorderseite sind USB-C, USB-A, Klinkenanschluss und der Powerbutton. Hinten gibt es dem Stromanschluss, einen Mini DisplayPort, LAN-Anschluss, zwei USB-A, HMDI und USB-C. Alles in den neuesten Generationen und Variationen. Es sind genug Schnittstellen vorhanden, um allerlei Geräte anzuschließen. Ich gehe davon aus, dass man über HDMI und DisplayPort 4K rausbekommt und so ein sehr gutes Sehvergnügen hat. Offiziell sollen es bis zu vier 4K-Monitoren sein, da bin ich sehr gespannt, wenn ich mal dazu komme, meinen Schreibtisch soweit auszubauen und aufzurüsten.
Im Inneren ist es ein Intel-Chip i7 der 11. Generation verbaut, der meiner Meinung nach fast alle Wünsche für normaler (Office-)Anwendungen, außerhalb des Gamings, erfüllt. Die Testung als Media Server folgt, wenn ich alle Daten und Einstellungen vom Laptop auf dem MiniPC übertragen habe. Soweit ich gelesen habe, sind WiFi 6 und Bluetooth 5.2 mit an Bord. Mein Mobiltelefon (Samsung Galaxy) konnte ich problemlos über Bluetooth verbinden und das sogar einfacher und sehr viel schneller als mit meinem Laptop. Der Lüfter ist leise und vollbringt seine Arbeit.
Die Office Programme laufen flüssig und smooth und das Surfen im Netz ist bisher problemlos möglich, sogar mit vielen geöffneten Tabs. Windows 11 Pro ist schon vorinstalliert und das Starten und erstmalige Einrichten ging in unter sieben Minuten von statten, was mich überraschte und die Augen aufreißen ließ in Bezug auf Windows 11. Ich besitze den MiniPC erst seit etwa einer Woche, doch bin ich jetzt schon mehr als begeistert und zufrieden.
Die Möglichkeiten des Upgrades sind immens und ich werde nach und nach mit Sicherheit die Komponenten erweitern. Als erstes mit Sicherheit den Arbeitsspeicher, auch wenn der mit 16 GB erst einmal vollkommen ausreichend bemessen sein sollte. Allerdings fahre ich mittlerweile die Strategie, gleich hochzuzüchten, um hinterher meine Ruhe zu haben. Der Arbeitsspeicher (DDR4) ist laut Angabe bis auf 64 GB erweiterbar, was ich mir für die kommende Tage vorgenommen habe. Die SSD mit 512 GB mit dem Formfaktor 2280 ist bis auf 2 TB erweiterbar und zudem kann man noch in einem 2,5-Zoll-Schacht eine weitere SSD oder HDD mit SATA- oder PCI-Anschluss hinzufügen. Ausgelobt sind hierbei ebenfalls bis zu 2 TB. Dadurch hätte man 4 TB Speicher und dies sollte mehr als ausreichend sein und wenn einem doch noch etwas fehlt, einfach über einen der USB-Anschlüsse externe Speicher hinzufügen. An der Unterseite lässt dich der MiniPC jedenfalls aufschrauben und dadurch die Erweiterungen einbauen.
Der Lieferumfang ist ebenfalls zu benennen, da ein kleines Täschchen mitgeliefert wird. Dazu ein HDMI-Kabel, das Stromgerät, eine Befestigungsplatte, wenn man den MiniPC irgendwo anbringen möchte und Schrauben. Ich habe den MiniPC während einer Aktion gekauft und so bekam ich die graumelierte originale Geekom-Tasche dazu, die auch etwas her macht und den Transport noch sicherer gestalten lässt.
Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass ich ein richtiger Fan von dem MiniPC und von Geekom geworden bin und ich die Firma definitiv weiter im Auge behalten werden. Der MiniPC hat sich schon jetzt gelohnt und bereitet mir sehr viel Freude. Er verbindet in meinen Augen hohe Leistungsperformance mit geringer Größe und das ist etwas, bei dem ich dachte, dass man lange danach suchen müsste. Die vorab verbauten Speicher (RAM und SSD) sind Markenprodukte, was mich positiv überrascht und ein Zeichen davon sind, dass jemand bei der Entwicklung und Ausstattung mitgedacht hatte. Die (leichte) Erweiterbarkeit finde ich gut und werde ich nach und nach angehen und freue mich schon darauf, aus dem Ding sowohl meinen Arbeits- und Alltagsrechner als auch mein Media Server zu machen und somit mehrere Dinge in einem vereint haben zu können. Das vorinstallierte Windows 11 Pro ist ebenfalls eine Überraschung, da man sonst nur die Home Edition bekommt. Somit kann ich diesen MiniPC weiterempfehlen und hoffe, dass Geekom weiter daran arbeitet dieses Niveau zu halten und sogar auszubauen. Ich bin auf die zukünftigen Produktentwicklungen in diesem Bereich gespannt.
