I've included a picture of the package, instead of just the pump. It's a true OEM part. I also, leak and seep tested it before installing it. I filled it up with water, threw some baggies over the outlet and inlet and held em on with rubber bands. then I turned the impeller with a big screwdriver and held it in every orientation I could think of to see if it bled out at any seam or the seal for the impeller on the back side. As I had read reviews about jacked up seams or leaks out of the bag. Everything seems to be good to go. I will alter this review if I find any issues or it fails.
Today is 22 MAR 16. If failure happens I will add the failure date. If this doesn't get updated within a few years, assume that it's worked like a charm, or I replaced the washer, and given the still functioning washer to someone who needed it.
Also, if you're looking to disassemble your washer, check the model on youtube and you'll probably find a video. That's how I got this apart. Two screws, two clips, one Molex connector, tilt body 45 degrees and you've got the cover off.
So if you intend on replacing this part you can save some time:
1.) Place machine on its side.
2.) Remove hose they are clamped on remove using a pliers.
3.) Remove the two brackets holding water pump to washer.
4.) Place new wash pump in place. )ensure the center hole is turn to line up with rod on machine.
5.) Replace the brackets.
6.) Attach hose first put clamps over part then attach hose and move clamps over hose. ensure tight seal.
Hope this helps!
Replacing the pump was easy. The hard part of the repair was replacing the washer panel(front and side panels all in one piece), specially if you don't know how to remove and put it back. It's pretty tricky.
If you don't know it, here's how.
The old pump didn't have any crack so the water probably was leaking from the seal. It's a 25 yr old washer, so it's about time something start failing. If you start seeing a leak under the washer, replacing the pump should be the first thing you should try. In my case, it was very hard to tell where the leak coming from just by looking at it.
This was my first time repairing the washer and I was quite nervous before I opened up the machine, so I checked around youtube and watched as many videos as I could find. It helped me build up my confidence.
As all repair jobs specially the ones involving water, it's quite messy but the effort is worth it.
The delivery was very fast, it took less than a week from the date of order and two days before the estimated delivery.
