Solid Replacement Cases, With Minor Flaws

I have been collecting video games for well over a decade now. Just started getting into Sega Genesis the past 2 months or so and I have found that it is probably the easiest system to collect CIB games. The only problem is that there were many Genesis games released in a cardboard box, which makes it A.) Hard to find those games in box, or B.) Makes it difficult to display those games on shelf.

These cases can help do the trick. Are they perfect replicas? No. But for a little over $2 a case they are well worth the investment for anyone who is trying to box all of their Genesis games. The cases are a little slimmer than the actual Genesis cases. Also, the sleeve where you put in your art insert is very shiny/glossy. So if you're up close you can tell which ones are the replacement cases. These also do not fit any of the larger Electronic Arts cartridges, so keep that in mind. Some people have seem to have had quality control issues with the cases, such as the hang tab falling off. I haven't run into any of those. The cases seem durable and have stuck together well as I have inserted the art covers and games.

Outside of minor flaws, I am quite happy with the purchase. As I said earlier, for just over $2 these are definitely a good option to look at, as it's hard to even find sports games in box for that cheap these days.

These are serviceable at best. Right away, you will notice the thinner, flimsier plastic. The first time I pushed a game into one, one of the tabs basically just fell off. They do their job well enough, but don't expect them to last forever. They just aren't as sturdy as the real ones. That said, they are inexpensive, and they are better than the cardboard boxes that later games shipped in.

Depending on the game, you can also find scanned, actual size covers to print out and insert. It dramatically improves the appearance, but not all games can be found.

If you have plastic cases already, these are not good replacements. Even if the tabs are broken off in your case, the same will just happen to these. If your games are loose however, you could do a lot worse.

Not great but gets the job done. The plastic pins that holds the game in place break easily. Can tell were cheaply made for reproduction. However they do what they were meant to do, which is protect your games from dust/elements. Has a plastic sleeve for those that like to make covers, just be careful with the pressure you apply. Overall it does what its meant to do, protect your games and makes it easier to sort your games.(Note only fits original genesis/megadrive carts. Not for those EA or special sized carts.) Good for the price, however those nitpicky about quality you might want to keep searching for the original Sega cartridge cases.

As other reviewers have stated the outside sleeve for the artwork is very thin and fragile. Its also really shiny instead of the slightly frosted matte look of the originals. The rest of the case feels sturdy and solid. With artwork inserted these cases look just like the OEM cases from the outside and make games look brand new. Inside there are some Injection molding points visible in quite a few places but otherwise look and function very similar to an original case. Game cartridge fits nice and secure and isn't difficult to remove. Haven't tried inserting a manual but the tabs look legit. And as others have stated the case seems to be a tad skinnier then an OEM case but my artwork fits perfectly.

All in all if you cant find an original replacement game case these work great in a bind. I would definitely buy these again if need be but would look for an original case first.

Sega Genesis Replacement Cartridge Cases

Having more than a few Sega Genesis games that either have no cases or the old universal cases I was glad to find someone that sold a replica of the Sega Genesis game case, while the case is close to the original it's not an exact copy, the case is a tad bit thinner then original and the plastic slip cover for the art is made of thin and cheap plastic that can tear easily if not handled carefully. The upside is that the case does have the inside tabs for both securing the cartridge as well as the manual (if you have one), as well as the hanging tab on the outside of the case.
Once you have the artwork inside the slip cover it looks like a new game case fresh from the store. Over all I'm fairly happy with function of the case and the looks.

Not Good alternative to the originals

They seem to be made pretty good. They are not as thick as the original cases, and have a glossier plastic sleeve. Overall all I am happy with the product and would consider getting more in the future if I need them.
Update: After maybe taking a game in and out maybe 2-3 times, 2 of the 3 case's tabs that hold the games have broke. Also the plastic liner has started to come off 1 of the 3. I have to downgrade my rating due to these factors. Also, I noticed a price increase of about $2 each to now about $3 each. I can no longer recommend this product due to craftsmanship and price.

Not an exact duplicate of the originals, but pretty close. Same width and height, but slightly narrower than original. Looks nicer than universal cases when sitting on a shelf with originals. Original artwork will fit. I think sleeve artwork size of originals is 270mmx171mm. Clear outer sleeve is shiny instead of matte, and tends to separate from the case easily, so be careful if putting in artwork. Seem to be fairly sturdy and hold cartridges in place like the original. Obviously will not hold non-standard-size cartridges like EA. Even reproduces the plastic hang tags on the top that are often removed from originals.
