- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2025Uses OpenWRT which admittedly puts it outside of the scope of non-technical users, but also makes it a hidden gem for replacing an unreliable wifi extender or adding wifi to an ethernet-only device using a minimal footprint (in my case, an older laser printer). The best part for me is that with OpenWRT and admittedly the power of your chosen AI platform to fill in any knowledge gaps, you can configure this in a way that is just not possible with normal retail firmware.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2025These work great with small portable mixers. I have two Soundcraft 24ui mixers and each one has one of these as their router/wifi connection. Zero Dropouts once you put this into your mixer system.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2025I bought this to use as a small network with my telescopes MiniPC and my laptop when far away from WiFi. Setup was easy and it seems to work just fine.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2025This is a reliable workhorse of a router: I built a wireless guest subnet with it and never touched it again.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2025I am using it to remotely monitor my astrophotography rig. Remotely in this case is within 50 feet or so, the telescope being outside and I am inside. It sits on the power station, no connections to the astro rig computer. I use Remote Desktop Connection on an Android tablet to monitor the progress. The astro computer is running NINA. A shout out to Patriot Astrophotography for doing a video on this and how to connect a camera to show the rig within NINA. I haven't got the camera yet.
This wifi router is easy to setup. Select the router in the wifi choices and enter the default password. At some point an Ethernet cable needs to be attached to get Internet access to update firmware. Go th the network selection for more setup choices to change the SSID.
I got an excellent reception on my cell phone within about 50 ft, I was outside and the router was inside.
I kept getting dropped when I was using my home WIFI. I then used my cell phone as a hotspot and lost connection once in a couple hours. So, I searched the Internet and found this unit. I haven't actually used it beyond initial setup, powered things off and back on to be sure it reconnected. Shows lots of promise.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2023I was in the market for a device to act as a wifi bridge between an adhoc wifi device and my Win10 laptop. This device had the potential to fulfill that need and prior to purchase, I asked if this was capable. There were three answers to my question, two of them clearly not understanding the question (always fun on the publicly-accessible internet!), but the manufacturer also responded, in the positive. So I made the purchase.
I could not get the device to join an adhoc network, no matter what I did. I emailed customer support and received the answer I needed to install a plug-in. I was unable to locate an appropriate plug-in and told this to Support. After a few days, they replied back they made a mistake and there is no plug-in. End of communication.
I did my own research and deduced I would have more access to the hardware functionality if I upgraded the firmware to a newer (compatible) version of OpenWrt. I downloaded it and started flashing. After approximately 45 minutes there was no visible progress so I killed the web page and restarted the router. I never came fully back up (e.g. no login, wifi SSID not visible). I did the 10-second reset. No difference. I left it unpowered overnight and then did the 10-second reset. No difference. I left it unpowered over another night. Still not functional.
It is now a brick and as I no longer have the original packaging, it will shortly join a pile of electronics destined for recycling.
Do not buy if you want to do anything more than basic routing, despite the manufacturer's claims.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2024I'm a BAS technician and this little router is very handy; have had it for a few months now, it works for light weight tasks, but when i've loaded it, say RDP over wifi with heavy file transfers, I ran into it over heating and turning off after 15 minutes or so. Then when i've tried wifi and lan with wan port, rdp, other tcp connections, two laptops connected to it at the same time, it didn't last more than a few minutes before it would cycle power. It does lightweight things and good for the price but not heavy traffic.

martijn JansenReviewed in the United Arab Emirates on June 7, 20245.0 out of 5 stars Amazing small little asset
Works like a charm, even with the hotel splash pages. get the firmware update going and watch for open ports and attack surfaces. I used cable on the outside and WLAN on the inside. Work like a charm. Maybe a weekly reset is needed, but hey, it packs a punch, fast, easy, runs.
WLUReviewed in Belgium on May 2, 20255.0 out of 5 stars Very nice
Very interesting abilities in configuring it. Fast delivery. Is quite powerful. Just be aware. It is 2.4Ghz only.
Felix M.Reviewed in the Netherlands on August 26, 20245.0 out of 5 stars Runs openwrt (and luci!) out of the box, amazing!
I think this company nailed the concept of a cheap router that has a user friendly UI but also allows advanced users to go nuts on luci (or uci) at the same time. WPA3 seems to be configurable in luci as well and the range seems to be pretty decent. It does seem to be set to 100mW by default which is a bit high.
