Incl bass knob (bass boost)
Variable subwoofer x-over slope
Bass knob controls boost only and not volume. I would prefer to be able to control the subwoofer volume versus increasing or decreasing boost at 80z
No subsonic filter
Runs warmer than my last amp (not hot-but definitely warm)
Bought to replaced a JBL 5 channel amp that died. This definitely has more epower and goes louder than my old amp but you can tell it's a class d as the sound is very flat compared to my previous JBL class A/B amp. (Using the same Head unit/wiring/speakers).
Almost perfect... If the bass knob was volume control and not bass boost and if it had a subsonic filter this would amp would be perfect!
For the price though this is the best 5 channel amp out there. If I needed one for another car I would buy this amp again for sure.
FYI: vehicle reference. 2003 Ford F250 diesel quad cab. Pioneer GM-DX975 was paired with a Pioneer AVH-310EX to provide power to the factory 6x8" speakers and an Orion Cobalt 12" sub in a 1.75 cu. ft. ported encloser. System was tuned using the SMD DD-1 distortion meter.
This simple system will do everything I need. Used Ohm's Law to set the gains, they are set pretty much where 5v would be on the gain knobs. Anything over 30 on the head unit is uncomfortably loud. The fifth channel will drive this small sub as hard as you want it to. It might not be enough to drive a ported enclosure in the trunk, I haven't tried it and most likely won't.
Very pleased, will probably end up getting another for my extended cab pickup.
