From the Author
During a time of reflection, I recognized in a deeper way than ever before, that God was with me in every single situation throughout my life. In every loss, every victory, every tear, and every joy--God was there. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven." With new revelation, I understood that we truly have a God for all seasons. Then I thought, "That would make a great book title!"
I pray my readers would find encouragement and hope for their life's travels. I want them to know how much God cares for and loves them.

“The seasons of the year have often been used as pictures of life; I think the months are also such pictures. Walk with me through the seasons and their months, no matter where you need to start – by the calendar or by your life-season,” Patti Tingen writes in her book, "A God for All Seasons: Inspiration and Reflection for All Times."
At one hundred and ten pages, this paperback targets those who enjoy concentrating on God and wanting a closer relationship with Him. The NIV, NAS, NKJV, NLT, and The Message versions of the Bible are referenced. After an introduction, the book is divided into four seasons, containing three chapters for each month, ending with a brief epilogue.
Living in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Tingen sees the beauty of nature around her daily. Having been married to her husband, Doug, over thirty years, she has experienced the ups and downs of life, both hardships and blessings, prayers and praises.
As the four seasons are discussed, time to hope, renew, wait, change, plant, trust, give, celebrate, rest, harvest, believe, and thank focus on our relationship with Christ and how He should be the highlight in all we do.
With each month beginning with a Bible verse, sometimes there is reflection of Bible characters such as Job, Abraham, Joshua, Elijah, Daniel’s three friends, the Israelites, and the Apostle Paul. Verses in Psalms and the New Testament are added for guidance and direction.
Mentioning personal experiences struggling five years through unemployment, a business start-up, and family illnesses and deaths, the author mixes in the mundane of food choices, painting dirty walls, and renting to prove God is involved in our everyday lives.
The writer explains her encounters with the Almighty dealing with her “smoking neighbors,” showing her a daily symbol of promise, and offering a wonderful future harvest in her life, as she prays for a spiritual make-over that lasts forever. Asking readers to consider if they are a Backyard Duck, Misguided or Front Door Finch, or a For Show Only Dove, she wishes to be a Fruitful Finch, mimicking God’s love.
Short and to the point, this eclectic combination of seasons and months’ observations reminds us there is a time for everything and God is in control.
