DISCLAIMER: I wish I could give this 4 & 1/2 stars, but limited by Amazon Rating system! So my review should be rated at a 4.5 stars.
*** BIGGEST REASON I PURCHASED THIS? PLAYS my AMAZON CLOUD COLLECTION SUPER DUPER! (I'm loving Amazon Cloud, take that iTunes!)***
#1) Great price for a good solid Bluetooth speaker.
#2) Good sound quality. Projects sound & carries a signal through 1, 2 or 3 rooms with no issues (depending how loud I blast it and walls etc). Sound quality not quite as good as my iPod "BOSE" SOUND DOCK system, but for jamming whist surfing the net or cleaning the house or just listening to good music, it is great! Better than cheaper or smaller speakers I've tried.
#3) SIMPLE. Plug in, turn on, then set your Bluetooth enabled device to find and pair it up with.
~ It reads as a "Bluetooth Headset" named "GG-BLUE-SYNC" on my Bluetooth devices that locate it
~ virtual plug/play on these devices, all setup is from the device you are connecting to the speaker, there is NOTHING to do on the speaker. It just works!
~ I've tested this out on my android smartphone (Samsung EPIC 4G) and my Sony VAIO L series touch screen PC, my kids phones & mP3 players with no problems connecting or transmitting via earphone jack or Bluetooth wireless.
~ Its Bluetooth EASILY pairs with A2DP equipped audio devices
#4) BASS projects VERY well (good speaker with a good bass level to go along with the standard sound projection).Read more ›
I returned it at the cost of $15 postage and bought a second one.
The second GOgroove BlueSYNC 2.1 is dead on arrival. The thing doesn't even light up. There's no user accessible fuse or circuit breaker. The power light doesn't glow nor will the volume buttons. Thumping the top didn't help this time so back it goes for a second time at the cost of another $15.
I'll open a case with Amazon to try to get the vendor to make good on the shipping costs.
I really wanted for this to work. The system looks great and the speakers seem very promising but inside is cheap Chinese circuitry with very poor QC. I'm not going to dare order a 3rd one.
The sounds is truly amazing for such a small unit. I learned a trick from an electronic store to get the most "booming" audio from small speakers. If you place the unit (which is quite heavy, reflection of large magnets to drive the speakers) on top of a hollow enclosure, the sounds carries a lot further and is more "stereophonic". I placed it on top of my chest-of-drawers.
The PowerAMP app that I have on my Android Tablet comes with a 10-band equalizer, so after tweaking the db gains on the 10 bands, it "almost" sounds as good as the Altec speakers (with a sub-woofer) that's connected to one of our desktop computers. But of course, no where near as good as the 7.1 set-up I have for the home-entertainment system, but I wasn't expecting it to be.
I was able to blue-tooth the music from my tablet across two rooms and a few walls in between and spaces around the bends, indirect line-of-sight, but no complete obstructions. Don't really know what's it's going to be like if I try to stream the music from a room with 100% obstruction, but I don't have a situation that requires that kind of set-up anyways.
Overall, I am so glad I bought this! I tried the Bose blue-tooth speaker, but for $200 less, this is obviously a steal!
There is one thing that annoys me about this item. On the front, there are three lights. A green power and two blue volume control lights. Understand that these lights are VERY bright and piercing. I actually had to move the speaker near a window to dull the brightness- you cannot dim them. If this thing was in a bedroom it would be as if you switched a lamp on.
Besides this, I would recommend it.

Dead simple unit, works flawlessly, and the sound is outstanding. This is not a tiny unit and isn't super portable. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Gabe Miller
Arrived DOA, just a solid HUMMM no matter what mode the unit was in. Tried both Blue Tooth and AUX with out success. Spent the extra money and went with a BOSE system instead. Read morePublished 18 months ago by JoeO
