These are more than just reference plates to look up each of the GPIO pin's function. By doubling and twisting the ends of wires (and by practicing a little on non-critical objects:), it is possible to solder them into the tiny holes, thereby allowing to 'duplicate' the GPIO and move the plate to another area inside the Raspberry's case, eg. for a fan or a small battery-powered uninterruptible power supply (UPS), without blocking the GPIO on the Raspberry's board. For the price, it cannot hurt to try if you are comfortable dealing with thin wires inside the housing of tiny devices ― but if you were not, you would not mess around with the RasPi in the first place, would you? :-)

Thin, simple and effective. Great for development and learning about the GPIO pins. The pack comes with two as shown in a zip lock bag. They are a little brittle looking, so don't try to flex them (unless you want to snap them in two pieces!). They also stick out a few centimeters from the edge of the board, so obviously you won't be able to fit them into a case or use them in a final project.

On the flip side, I think they could use a few more markings to indicate the orientation (like pointing out which side should be next to the USB ports), and a little bit of color to point out the power and ground pins.

These little things are awesome. Don’t let the pictures fool you, these babies are small! But they’re easy to read, feel fairly strong and sturdy, and fit beautifully (almost).

I’ve got one of the new Pi 3 B+ boards and it’s got a fun little set of pins towards the bottom of the main pin rail for a POE hat (Power Over Ethernet). The boards are just a hair too long and run into the pins. I broke out my trusty razor blade to trim it up - but HOLY HECK!! These little guys are tough! I ended up having to gently cut it with some strong scissors. The board cut beautifully with out chipping or splintering.

To recap: Great tool! Needs a slight mod for the 3B+. Glad I found these!
