Cons- the one weird thing here is that the manual that came in the box on my unit was for the wrong model number. So the instructions did not match up to the product. Also, it seemed like the manual it came with may have been very poorly translated from another language as some of it just did not make sense. That being said, i was able to figure out how to use the unit and it has performed ok.
Pros- Price... Battery meter on the handheld mic. Performance so far.
During my 3rd light usage(3rd use - 2 hours per session, full battery, 10 yard distance from receiver) of this set up, the receiver began to drop out and click intermittently, which was EMBARRASSING in a room full of professionals.
Lesson learned, can't exactly be mad because I didn't heed the warnings of the 100 ppl who have posted the same result.
Haven't decided if I want to bastardize the tech for another application or if I am going to sell for a loss.
Either way, I do not intend to return this product to to use when I have a $250 per hour attorney giving a lecture on professional liability.
No. Just...no. If that's the venue you are facing (or something similar) and are looking at this product - spend the money on something reliable.
If Casandra wants to sing karaoke to a room full of drunks - you'd be fine with this.
Everything works out of the Box. Receivers are tuned to work for our area. Only needed to reprogram when either adding the 2nd Receiver and when adding or changing Wireless Mics which were not included but purchased separately later. A Rear of Unit Picture on Amazon would be helpful. Rear Panel has Individual XLR Outs & Ganged TRS. Receivers include: TRS to TRS Cable for Ganged Output; Rack Mount Ears & Screws; Wireless Mics include both Headsets & Lavalieres.
Had to remove Receiver feet for Rack Mount. Easy. To remove feet - Use needle nose pliers and pull center pin then foot will follow. We 1st tried using a screw driver as a wedge to remove pins. Bad idea. Slightest side pressure will break plastic head off of foot pins. No big deal since we're now Rack Mounted.
Rack Mount saves setup time. And the Rack Mount Case we use allows us to leave Antennas connected!
Our Rack Mount Case from Seismic Audio Speakers - 6 Space Rack Case + 4 wheel Dolly.
Gear in Case configured from top to bottom:
1 Unit Fender Power Conditioner with Dual LED Lights & LED Readout
1 Unit BBE MaxCom Compressor, Limiter and Gate with Sonic Maximizer
1 Unit Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 Interface Mixer
1 Unit GTD Audio G-622 200 Channel UHF Wireless Microphone System - For 2 Wireless Mics!
1 Unit GTD Audio G-622 200 Channel UHF Wireless Microphone System - For more 2 Wireless Mics!
That's 5 Rack spaces. The Case Rack Rails alignment make it difficult for an additional anything. However, the Rack Case we use has 2 features worth noting - Rear Rails - We mounted in Rear of Case:
1 Unit 16 Port Gigabit Rack Switch
Plus Front Lid is Deeper than Read Lid (as mentioned before) and Antennas stay attached, no removal required!
Anything to make setup faster makes life easier for a Successful Meeting! Hope these details are helpful. Point of all of this - Plan ahead and allow for expansion. When we started this Project, we started with the need for Wireless Mics. And these work! But the 1st Mixer, we outgrew too quickly - Focusrite SCARLETT 18i8 18 In/8 Out USB 2.0 Audio Interface with Four Focusrite Mic Preamps. Great Mixer but the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 Interface better suited our needs especially in a Rack Mounted Mobile Case. Our Choice of GTD Audio Mics has never wavered. Only grown! BTW: This setup makes for an excellent Skype Audio Rack! Questions? Ask! If you find this Info helpful, please say, Yes!
