I just got these glasses this morning and I've been using them for about five hours. I debated whether to give these four or five stars, in large part because I don't have anything to compare these against (other than my naked eye).

The first thing you will notice is the way they warm up the screen. I use a 24" LCD that has a fluorescent backlight (Samsung SyncMaster 245T 24" LCD Monitor) and the difference is best described as going from a fluorescent light to an incandescent.

The glasses have a yellow tint, but once I wore them for a few minutes and compared the glasses/no-glasses view, the no-glasses view felt cold and harsh.

Second, they are light. As a non-glasses-wearing type, I worried a bit about how they would feel, but they are fine.

Third, they fit snugly, but not tightly. This is a total bonus, since your face is probably different than mine.

Finally, a comment about the price. I paid $99 through Amazon. It felt a bit expensive, but I rationalized it as such: I stare at a computer about 12 hours a day during the week and about 5 hours a day during the weekend. This is about 3600 hours a year staring at a screen. If they last me a year, I will have paid 2.75 cents per hour of use.

For some reason this pair of glasses made my eyes very sore in a short amount of time, despite the general very positive reviews here. The lenses seem to have a magnifying effect. As soon as I put them on, I could feel that my eye muscles were forced to work hard and adjusting to the seemingly closer distance of the monitor. Within half of an hour, my eyes endured much more strain than without the glasses and I needed to take them off. I have 20/20 vision and didn't think that the glasses would be incompatible with me. Perhaps I need them to be custom-made for me.

I have 20x25 vision and the only glass I wear is sunglass when I am outside. Generally I do not like to wear any glass and do not like the feel that something is on my nose and ears and in front of my eyes. So it's a brand new world to wear a glass. This is my first computer glass. I purchased this mostly based on reviews because I had no idea on how to choose one and had no chance to try any on.

I had worn it for a few days, a couple of hours each day. My initial feeling is that my 27" LCD monitor seems curved like recent curved TVs. Some people said they feel it's magnifying effects but I have near 0 of that feeling. I also have near 0 clarity enhancement by this glass. My biggest feel is that how bright screen it was after I take it off after wearing it for, say, 30 minutes. And I feel strained if I continue to look at that "bright" screen. Yes, that bright screen I had looked days by days and hours by hours before without wearing computer glass. In fact my screen had been set to be darker than most people's screens. Is this the biggest benefit I got from wearing this glass? I guess it is because I dot feel I get something else.

My complain, maybe unreasonable or even ridiculous to some, is that I do not like the frame in my view even though I am not viewing at them. I say "frame in my view" means that the two frames holding the glasses and the parts sitting on nose could be seen if you are reading on computer screen. I guess all people would see those if they wear glasses. The glass is small. I wonder if super oversized glass would eliminate this "frame in the view" issue. I search web again and could not find any large sized computer glass. I am willing to try such one because I want the feel that nothing is between my eyes and what I am looking at, just like high quality big glass in front of my eyes and I can see through.

These do seem to make eyes feel better after long sessions of computer screen watching. They magnify a little bit, which seems to reduce eye strain. Also, the tinted lenses reduce glare and make long sessions tolerable. I was skeptical, but I now believe they do work at least some to reduce eye strain. I use them primarily at work, but I did try them at home while playing a video game. In this setting, not only did it have the above benefits, but the glasses also appeared to prevent my eyes from drying out. I played Titanfall on a pc sitting a normal distance from the monitor for several hours and didn't have my eyes and contact lenses dry out. Normally this would have happened a few times. So overall, my feeling is that they provide a degree of improvement over not wearing anything. I really like using these glasses.

Ive known about the gunnar glasses for some time now as I am a nerd who stares at monitors and TV's with extreme frequency. Working in the Aerospace field I spend most of my days planted in front of a monitor for one reason or another and if I'm not at work I'm probably still staring at my phone or at my TV playing Xbox or surfing amazon to find what I want to buy next. After so long looking at a monitor my eyes start to feel strained and I sometimes get headaches as well....but not anymore.

I finally broke down and spent the 90 dollars on these gunnar glasses and boy am I glad I did. They are aluminum frames that feel strong and I'm not worried about these breaking any time soon. The amber lenses are designed to block out blues and that it does. If you wear these while using the computer and you take them off you will see the blues come at you in an almost blinding effect. They have a slight magnification, not much, but enough to make the computer screen look so much clearer and everything is crisper. All the colors do change slightly but it isn't a bothersome change unless you are a graphics designer and need accurate colors. I wear the glasses as long as I'm at work and take them off and lock them in my desk at the end of the day so I'm not going back and forth on and off every time I sit in front of a computer.

The glasses are light but strong and fit snugly on my face. My eyes feel less strained during the day and they look good as well. I was skeptical at first but now I'm happy I got them. If you think you need them and you have the money to spare then its worth it for what you get.
