Product Description

Connect almost any serial device to your desktop PC or laptop computer via a USB port.

Since most computers only come with a single serial port available, adding multiple serial devices requires the hassle of opening your computer case and adding costly hardware. The USB to Serial Adapter eliminates that problem by converting a serial plug into a USB plug, letting you take advantage of using one of the many USB ports on today's computers.

This device allows for a quick, simple, and inexpensive solution that is ideal for allowing a printer, scanner, modem, PDA, POS, or other serial device to be connected to your PC or Mac through a USB drive with speeds up to 500 kbps. Compliant with the standard specification of USB 1.1, the adapter instantly adds a serial port to your system via a USB connection, letting devices using an RS-232 or DB-9P Male connector to be added. This plug and play converter utilizes power via USB so no separate power supply is required.

Not the most exciting product to review, but it certainly did what is was supposed to do. Installed on two different XP systems (Pro and Home) without incident. No problems.
