Finally, a raccoon-free natural mascara

I've been wearing this mascara for a couple of weeks now, and I am happy to give it five stars. I have tried SO many natural mascaras -even small batch home-grown stuff found from the weird hippie recesses of the internet. This is my new favourite. I have worn it on long bike rides, to dance class, through a whole day of work in my dusty place of employment which usually makes my eyes water...and I have not had a single raccoon experience. However, the true test came two days ago, when I burst into a torrent of tears (...making a wrong turn in horrible traffic is stressful), and I did not have streams of brown down my cheeks. Additionally, this mascara does not burn the eyes or have any weird scent when applying. I had almost come to the point of accepting that I would just have to get used to daily raccoon eyes if I wanted an extremely limited-ingredient mascara. I am so relieved that I finally tried this brand, and it is at a relatively moderate price point for quality mascara. There is definitely cheaper out there -I've tried it, but the gain in cost has always meant a loss in quality. This one is worth the few extra dollars for me, and if it does not degrade as time goes, I will definitely purchase again.

Safe for Celiac people!

Had been looking for a gluten free mascara because of celiac disease. Other conventional mascaras made my eyes extremely itchy and watery.

This mascara is fantastic. I don't wear make up often, and when I do, it is only a bit of eyeliner and mascara.
Color is nice. My eyes are light brown, and black mascara looks a bit too shocking on me for daytime use. My eyelashes are long, but blonde, so I like mascara so it looks like I actually have lashes. I like the muted color of this; looks more like my natural lashes.

I was hesitant spending money on something I wasn't sure I would like, but this is great! (Yes, $15 for a product I might wear only a few times a month is a lot to me!)

Would highly recommend.

What More Could You Want?

I have been using and trying various brands of mascaras seemingly forever. I have bought the cheap and the expensive, but after discovering severe intolerances to grains and grasses, I switched to gluten free cosmetics. I have liked mascara forever and it is the one thing that my pale eyelashes and I require to have a happy face day. This mascara glides on very easily, and two coats later I am ready to face the day. I have loved a lot of mascaras and hated an equal number, but this one is firmly in the love column, at the top of the list. No smearing, no flaking, no itchy watery eyes, and no big price tag. The price is really good for any quality product, but it is especially good for gluten free, where onerous pricing is the rule and not a rarity. I can buy two tubes of this versus the one tube of other brands that I have tried, and my eyes and credit card both love it. I am also a fan of their dual foundation powder and blush, but that's for another day and another review. This is the mascara that I have always looked for and I finally found it. It won't change the world or make everything peaceful and wonderful, but it will make me happy to wear it, and it will make my eyelashes and eyes very happy. That's what I wanted and that's what I got. Thank you Gabriel. This is a home run.

I’m Paul’s wife. :) I love this mascara, it stays on better than everything that I have used in the past. I have tried some very expensive mascaras (Bobby Brown, Lancôme, Maybeline, etc.) and this is the best that I have found. It stays on all day, doesn’t flake off or leave smudges above or beneath my eyes and it’s to remove. I’ve been using it for more than a year! Good stuff!!!!

As I get older I do not like having dark mascara

As I get older I do not like having dark mascara. I prefer my makeup to look more natural. I have found this mascara to be much more natural looking. As I hate clumps I have cleaned the wand twice but have not had to repeat as of yet.

This mascara passes the cry test. No mess. Also at the end of the day I do not have flaking like I do with the over the counter major brand names.

My lashes do look thicker and very natural. As I have had a major surgery I haven't worn any makeup the last few weeks but when I get back into my routine I'll post pics.

Update 10/17/16: I've decided to change my rating from three to five stars. After a few months of using this the mascara in the tube thinned out enough to where the clumping was no longer an issue, and now almost a year in to using the same tube I'm just now starting to notice that I'll probably need to get a new one soon. So the trade off of the initial heaviness and clumping is a product that lasts seemingly forever.

Original review: This mascara goes on way too thick and wet. I have to use a tissue to get the excess off the wand and I'm guessing I'm getting about 3/4 off before I apply it, and then I still sometimes need to use a seperate wand tool on my lashes to comb them out, otherwise my lashes clump together and it doesn't look at all natural. Other than that the color is nice, and it doesn't irritate my eyes like other reviewers have stated (although I don't generally have issues with products irritating my eyes anyway).

This is a wonderful natural look mascara. I'm not big on the fake long spidery mascara look. I prefer more subtle enhancement, browns rather than jet black, a softer look. If that's your jam too, this product delivers! It's a medium-dark brown, smooth formula, not too clumpy, good staying power throughout the day. You can double coat for a more dramatic look but one coat does the trick. It has a pretty decent brush but still requires a separate comb through between coats. Pic included for reference, mascara only on top lashes.

I’ve yet to discover an all natural mascara that I love but this one does a good job. It does have some issues like flaking and smudging and clumping but all of the natural ones do (at least the ones I’ve tried.) it’s better than most but not perfect. *Update: while this is a decent all natural option, I’ve discovered Ecco Bella mascara is the best out there.

I like that this produce doesn't involve animal testing or use animal products in its manufacture. However, it's quite thin and requires a number of coats to be effective. I bought it too hoping it would help rid me of itchy eyes caused by other mascaras, but this hasn't happened. Disappointing.
