Comment: Black wraps with bw image and white lettering. 99 pp. with 90 bw illustrations. Errata sheet laid in. Catalogue from the exhibition held at the Lambert Castle Museum, September 24, 1980 through February 1, 1981. A portion of the exhibit also was shown February-March 1981 at William Paterson College in Wayne, New Jersey. The show was in celebration of the centenary anniversary of the Passaic County Historical Society's Lambert Castle. Includes a preface, Gaetano Federici and the American Scuptural Tradition, by Charles Savage; a main essay, Gaetano Federici, 1880-1964: a biographical essay, by Flavia Alaya; the catalogue of works, a list of terms and abbreviations used in the catalogue; sections of dated and undated sculptural works, paintings and sketches, and other works. The catalogue includes 239 items in all, each annotated. Quotes by Federici are peppered throughout. Federici was an Italian-born master relief sculptor who studied with the master American bronzemakers but who chose to return to his American hometown of Paterson, New Jersey, where he completed at least 40 commissioned public monuments. His works are known for their truth in realism, and Federici is quoted as saying, "the artists' work that will survive are true likenesses of people, things, and events."
