My milk ran almost comopoetely dry after taking Sudafed. No one ever told me a decongestant would dry me up! Anyway, the guy at the health food store told me about this stuff. I was originally pumping 3-4 oz TOTAL after 45 minutes. I started taking this stuff, 2 in the pm and 2 in the am and HOLY MILK, BATMAN! 1 day later was pumping 11 oz total instead of 3-4!! You have to drink alot with this to make it work well. I highly recommend this product if you're trying to increase your milk. It is wonderful!

The first time I took these (month 2) I just needed them to get me started and I didn't need to take more than the 1 (60qty) bottle. Second time around (month 8), long story short I stopped pumping as regularly thinking babe was self-weaning (turns out not). Dropped 2 bra sizes and went from pumping 12oz a day in 1/2 hour to 1-3oz in an hour. The following is what I found to be true for myself while taking Lactate Support. I went from 2oz to 10oz within 20 days (and pumped nearly 6oz just this morning in 12mins!)

TIPS for MAXIMIZING EFFECTS OF PILLS:
1) When I finally emotionally surrendered to the fact that I may have to use formula for the babe, it alleviated a lot of stress and milk production got better.

2) Drink LOTS of water. I currently drink at least 2 glasses every meal and when getting up and going to bed.

3) Instructions say take between meals. Refining: I switched from taking it directly before/shortly after meals to ON AN EMPTY STOMACH as far between meals as possible.

4) According to Lac. Consult., when trying to ramp up from being "dry", DO pump 4-6x a day for 5-10 minutes even if nothing comes out. It will train your body to want to produce more. Though if you started, but stopped pumping for a long stretch of time, she did say there is a point where the boobs can't be "revived" and retrained.

5) I take 4-5 a day, depending on how much I produce.

CAVEATS:
1) Being over zealous and taking 6-8 pills a day to "force" production while stressing out only makes production worse. Went from building momentum of 5oz a day (after 2 week of taking pills) down to 2-3oz with nearly 1 hour's pumping (3rd week in). More pills than recommended does NOT necessarily equal accumulatively more milk production.

So I normally get these Gaia herbs from the vitaminshoppe for more expensive. They work like a charm ! Almost instantly that day I take them my boobs instantly fill up with more milk. I'm nursing my 7 month old baby girl and she's demanding more milk. So these work so well ! Unfortunately I ordered these herbs through Amazon and got a n old batch . I wasted $50 too I bought 2 . They were old and dried up compared to the ones I purchases previously at the Vitaminshoppe. The liquid in these capsules look dried out and wasn't really in a fluid liquid from form . I tried shaking and flicking the pill and the liquid stayed still. I then proceed to use for about 1 week . Not much change in milk flow . So I went to vitaminshoppe bought another box and after a few hours of taking this batch I had milk flowing again.

I'm so excited to finally found a combination of herbs that brings in my milk! I've been taking fenugreek, alfalfa, blessed thistle, nettles, Marshmallow root, and Fennel but they haven't supplied me with as much milk as three tiny pills. My daughter is 11 weeks and I may finally be able to stop supplementing with formula.

I think this works. Definitely saw an increase in my milk production when I was nursing/pumping. Didn't have any nasty side effects like some other supplements. I would definitely recommend to nursing mothers.

When I returned to work my pumping supply majorly tanked! But I took between 6-9 capsules a day and quickly got myself back to where I need to be each day. Now I just take one or two as needed if I see a small change in my supply.

I have been happier with this supplement than any other supplement or combo of supplements I have tried. I'm currently exclusively pumping for baby #3 and have seen an increase of 10-12 oz. per day. I would probably have more of an increase, but I actually dropped a pump session since I now have enough milk at the end of the day to send to the babysitter the next day.
