I will NOT recommend this mat for non-carpeted floors - it is very slippery against a smooth floor surface (does not have traction with the floor, and feels like you are on ice), as it traps a thin a layer of air between the floor and mat (regardless of which side of the mat you use)

All my children have slipped and fallen, to the point where we’ve just thrown the mats out rather than risk further injury.
