Top customer reviews
Now, four years after the range repair, the top of the range caught fire as the oven was pre-heating and could have quickly burned my house down if I hadn't been standing just two feet away when the flames shot out. The service tech says the computer board shorted out and caused the fire, which also melted the wiring, which also needs to be replaced now.
Neither the company I bought the appliances from nor Frigidaire will cover any part of the repairs. The customer service person actually told me on the phone that if my house had burned that at least my homeowners insurance would have covered it. BRILLIANT you moron!!
Despite Frigidaire having to recall over 300,000 smooth top ranges over the last few years because they were fire hazards (http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2009/Frigidaire-and-Kenmore-Smoothtop-Electric-Ranges-Recalled-Due-to-Fire-Hazard/), Frigidaire says that mine is not covered. What?????
Stay away from Frigidaire appliances. Spend your money with a company that is reputable and stands behind what they sell - Frigidaire does not.
It's a nice looking stove. After playing with the controls a bit I wish that both large burners were not on the front. If I am using both of those and I want to use a smaller pan it will involve me trying to avoid steam burns.
The drawer underneath is super flimsy. I was keeping my Corning Wear in the bottom drawer with my old oven but I will not with this one.
The wire of the shelves is a bit flimsy. I kept a shelf from my old oven and the difference in the thickness is surprising.
I used the convection tonight and made a meatloaf and roasted potatoes. The part of the meatloaf that was facing the door got much browner than the back. I will have to remember to rotate the food on the shelves often.
It has a temperature probe but it only tells you what temp the food is when you push the button. You can't set an alarm when the food has reached the desired temperature so I will still be buying other probes to cook my meals.
The clock isn't on when the oven is engaged. There is no way to set the display back to the clock if the oven is going and if I am cooking a long and slow roast I don't like not being able to see what time it is. I am used to my stove clock being my main time source in the kitchen.
I am not unhappy I have it. Would I buy again? I don't know. This is only day two and I am less than thrilled but the price was okay.
