I used this jar for ONE batch of Kombucha. The 100% leak proof spout leaked from the start. I watched it leak straight from the spout as if it were turned on, but it was closed all the way. Then when I took off the cheap spout this jar came with so that I could install the more sturdy oak leaf spout (ordered separately), I had to hand wash the jar in WARM water. While washing in the sink by hand in WARM water the bottom of the jar began to fracture. Eggshells would be stronger than this jar. The glass is weak, and the spout leaks. DO NOT PURCHASE.

The first container does not sit flat on and flat surface. It rocked. I returned it to Amazon for a replacement container. It did not sit flat either.
My guess is that the glass mold used to produce this beverage container in China has a defect on or in its surface leading to a defect on the bottom of the container. Both containers embossed with the name YORKSHIRE. Second one marketed by FineDine. I do not remember who marketed the first container.

This container is lovely. Not only does it look good (it has a cute mason jar aesthetic), but it's very well made. I was afraid of the spigot being leaky because that seems to be a problem with a lot of beverage dispensers, but if you install the spigot correctly, it's impossible to get leaks because the hole is completely sealed. I got this to put in my room so I can drink water at night without going downstairs and it works amazing.

This is a great product. My first priority was to avoid a cheap, tacky plastic tap. The supplied tap / spigot is solid, stainless steel and feels like it will cope with a lot of use - which it will get! It doesn't drip and has a good flow. In common with other dispensers, the lid needs to be loosened to allow the drink to flow, but it doesn't have to be fully unscrewed - just loose so there isn't an airtight seal - meaning contents remain free from contamination, or insects etc if you're serving drinks outside. It's a little smaller than I imagined (although holds the amount in the specifications!) and if you're using the ice cylinder the volume is reduced a fair bit more. So the solution for a large family? By a second one and offer a choice of drinks. Well worth it!
