This story soon realizes our two main characters have met before and the first time was a rush to both. A year and a half later they meet again which our male star is a bit slower on the uptake. Our fem character never reveals her true self then suddenly ole Jim decides to blackmail our fem star and BAM!!!! ITS OVER.
DONT LIKE CLIFF HANGERS, DO NOT COMPREHEND WHY THE AUTHOR DOESNT SHARE THIS PIECE OF INFO.....AND ODDLY ENOUGH NEITHER DID THE OTHER EVALS ON THIS BOOK!
Maci is an author who writes under a pen name and doesn't want anyone to know her true identity and Liam is the owner of the biggest gaming company there is and rich. I love her independent streak but wanted to shake her sometimes and Liam is the hot geeky nerd not at all sure of himself around women but knows he wants to get to know Maci better. Neither one realizes that they had met before but when they do.....look out!!
They meet and there is an instant connection. They send each other and themselves through so many changes. There is a little bit of everything in this book and I couldn't put it down. Both Maci and Liam are keeping secrets. Will these secrets tear the relationship apart before it has really begun? What are their secrets? Will the fiery independent woman and nerdy geek be able to overcome their differences? What harm will Big Jim the competitor cause? All questions to be answered when you read this book!
I highly recommend this book and author!!
They meet at a coffee house, she can't stand his overbearing ways, and although wants to have nothing to do with him, agrees to go out on a date because her editor believes that she needs some human interaction (really?). So she goes to a fundraiser with Liam, and realizes that she was at his company party last year and slept with him. Then, she gets pissed that he doesn't remember her, and he doesn't remember her until he spots a Batman tattoo on her back. He keeps it from her because he's unsure if she remembers him and she's doesn't tell him because she's unsure if he remembers her.
During their "getting to know each other" phase, she continues to find him to be full of himself, but that becomes endearing to her, which I don't really understand. But she's more determined to get him to remember that they screwed when they were drunk, and she has the unrealistic expectation that a womanizer would remember her. He doesn't really remember her, he remembers the tattoo.
Then she comes up with a brilliant plan to seduce him, to get him to remember her. Between the back and forth of does he or doesn't he remember me, then being pissed at each other and not talking, and then getting back together to have sex, their relationship doesn't develop. They are frustrating characters in a plot that could have been solved in 30 pages, and yet ends on a cliffhanger.
The main story is weak, so are the subplots, and I don't even like the characters that much. All in all, very disappointing and frustrating.
Like the other book this too is a fast read. The character development between Liam and Maci is great. Each with a past, burdens and secrets. Steamy sex scenes make the book even more interesting. But trouble soon unfolds and a few bumps come into play. And what would a story be without those.
You learn a little more about Maci's story with her grams and the slimy Jim. And we Lear the sexy, gamer geek Liam has a few issues of his own.
I do wish there was a little more interaction between Maci and her editor and friend Sky as well as Liam and his partner and friend Thad. But that aside loving the story and the way this ends, you kind of know what slimy Jim wants and now I have to rush and see what Maci will do.
