My 11-year-old got this game for Christmas and we've played it once. It's your basic Game of Life just with doggie things. You can be a career dog (service, police, etc.) or you can be a house pet. You get paid in bones depending on what you end up doing. You get married, have puppies, bury bones, chase squirrels, buy a new collar, get fined for sleeping in the bed. You get the idea. The game could be a little sturdier. It's not doubled-hinged like the original game so you have to remove the spinner, fire hydrant, tree, Pooch Palace, etc. Because of that they don't stay in well and keep coming out. If they didn't want to double-hinge the board they should have just skipped most of the plastic pieces. They don't add to the game and they keep getting knocked loose. And the little pictures of the dogs kept falling out of the cars, too. They're cute, but I'd skip them. The rules were pretty straightforward but there were places in the board where it branched off and you could go two different ways. Nothing said if you had to go a certain way, if it mattered or what. Two of us played the game in about 20 minutes. It went buy pretty quickly, much faster than Original Life I think. It's a good game if your kids have short attention spans.

I really love this game! I try to play it every time when I have the time. It reminds me of all the dog fiction books I've read; the situations that could happen if dogs were more like humans. Some of the rule are more complex than I like, but on the whole I can't get enough of this game.

We love playing the game of life and since our daughter loves dogs we thought this was bound to be a hit on game night! We were wrong! The game is well made with cute pieces, but there are so many complicated rules. Even after playing it 5 times we still have to read through the instructions each time. It is very frustrating especially for my 8 year old.

Bought this game for my 11 year old niece, a big dog lover. She loves it and was super excited that she could take her dog's picture and use it for the game piece. It was a hit!

This is not the same exact game as the regular game of Life. This one is great for kiddos with shorter attention spans because it is a little bit shorter version. The dog characters are cute, and I love that you can add pictures of your own dog to be one of the characters. The rules are a little different, and can sometimes be confusing for those playing. Have to read through them a couple times we played the game. Overall is a cute game.

This is a fun game, really cute. I wish I could give it five stars, but what's holding me back is that it lacks a little dimension. You go around the board and acquire money just by passing certain milestones on the board (determined entirely by which doggie job you get), but there's not much else to do. It's fun the way candyland is fun, for a younger, less demanding crowd.

Santa brought this for my 10 year old daughter. She told me she has played the original at school and it was boring.
She absolutely loves this version. We have played is several times since Christmas and she even asked to play it when her friend came over.
Of course all the spaces you land on have to do with a dog's life from adopting a puppy or digging up bones. The occupations are things like K-9, Service Dog, Movie Star. She likes that the money is called "bones" and the dog with the most bones at the end wins.
Fun game for parents too.

This was a horrible game. The whole game lasted all of 15 minutes of which we spent mostly confused about the rules as they were not clear. My family and I are big Game of Life fans, however this edition of the game fell short as there was only one stop, "career" didn't matter, different rules, and different money. I expected some things to be very similar to the original game but It felt like it was a whole new game. I've already opened it or else I would have sent it back. I am so disappointed.
