I was sure this rare game would be an instant hit with my nieces at Christmas, but as far as I know they've never played it once and have shown no interest in playing it when I suggest it. They like the art, and they carry it around, but the rules apparently confuse them -- and they have no problem playing Sleeping Queens and even Jaipur!

Still, super-nifty art on the cards, and it comes with an equally high-quality metal box.

This is a fun game for kids. Each card has a goblin on one side and a fairy on the other. The artwork is really cute and everyone has their favorite goblin or fairy. Briefly, the game play involves playing a card each turn and then flipping over any rhyming cards that are in the center 'fairy ring' play area. After the card flip the person who played the card takes into hand any cards that match the symbol in the corner of the card played. The goal is to fill your hand with fairies while discarding goblins. The game requires light strategy because you have to be able to plan a couple moves ahead. Ideally some reading and the ability to pick out rhymes makes the game play better, but I have played with kinders. Since the game is played with open hands we were able to play by just reading the cards on each player's turn. It slowed things down a little but I still think it was worthwhile.

This is a fun game, esp if your child likes fairies as mine does. We are a family that loves playing games, but my 7-yr old daughter is not into games, so I have been looking for games with subjects that interest her hoping to get her more into them. She received this game as a gift last week and has wanted to play it several times a day every day! The rules are fairly simple, but there is strategy involved as to which card to play so you can successfully get rid of a goblin or gain one or more fairies in your hand, so I think the recommended age of 7+ is right on. It took a few games for my daughter to understand the strategy, but now she really gets it and even taught her dad how to play. The cards are beautifully illustrated, thick and sturdy.

Very simple game and easy to learn but has a decent amount of strategy suitable for younger players. Much more fun (at least for me) than stale old games like Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders that require no thinking at all. The artwork is also downright gorgeous and charming.

I had no idea when I bought this game what it was. I did not realize that it was a game for little kids...nor did I realize how much fun I could have playing a little kids game. The fact that it has solitaire play is awesome. gives me something to do on my days off when the wife is working and there is nothing worth watching on TV.

I bought this game for my 7 year old niece, and I was pleasantly surprised that it is a game that I can play with both my sister and my niece. Every one has a chance to do well, and no one is bored.

The mechanics are very straightforward, and easy to learn. The 7 year old had it figured out, and was making her own moves, without help, after just a couple of games. A typical game is short enough that the 7 year old did not get bored. She'll usually play two or three games before she wants to wander off and do something else.

Although it is fairly simple to learn, there is some interesting planning ahead and strategy to try to prevent other players from winning. You can see what cards other players have available, and anticipate what they might want to do a couple of moves in advance. I am a big gamer geek, who has played much more complex games, and I felt that despite the simplicity of the game I still had interesting decisions to make.

The art is also beautiful. My 4 year old nephew, who doesn't really get how to play the game yet, likes to look at the pictures.

In conclusion, this is a good game for mixing serious game players with not so serious gamers. Just about anyone can pick up the rules, but the thinkers will not be as bored as with many children's games (e.g. Candyland).

We got this for a family game and it is really cute. We have two preteen daughters that like it a lot. My husband not the biggest fan but, he thinks it's alright. ;) It's nice that is comes in a fancy tin and is small enough that we can take it with us easy.

Its a very simple game to learn and play. My 5 year old is learning to read and this game helps to motivate him. While the game has some rather deep strategy for a simple child's card game you don't need to know all the ins and outs to enjoy it.
