For those seeking the ultimate trireme built of paper and ink, destined for the incontainable glory of
ancient Greece, Panos Valavanis' 'Games and Sanctuaries ...' is the most sea worthy tour available.

The vastness of the sites (in land mass and spirit) is rightly photographed. The wild flowers and red
blossoms in the trees are a poetic truth. Statuesque, excellent, elegantly translated by Dr. David Hardy,
totally without limit: very human and suspiciously divine: Greek. It is all here.

If you are starving due to life in the 21st century and have only so much money in your account, spend it
on this alone. You will arrive in paradise.

As one might expect, the foreword by Sir John Boardman encapsulates brilliantly the zenith of the Greek
mind in one aspect of that which it strove to accomplish.
