I was a bit skeptical due to other users suggesting use of rubber mallets and some of the defective units being shipped.
Figured what the h and ordered two.
Upon arrival, drove up to the local Home Depot and picked up two normal all purpose 5 gallon buckets.
At first, with the lid screwed in, I could not fit the seal ring on the bucket.
I tried two methods
1. hammer covered with towel (I don't have a rubber mallet)
2. turning the bucket upside down with the seal lid on the bottom and sitting on it or applying downward pressure on the bucket.
Decided to try method #2 with the lid off (Just the seal ring).
Sitting on it and wiggling my butt did the trick. Both snapped into place and I was able to screw the lid in fine.
Good luck with yours. First thing I did upon receiving the item was to inspect for any cracks on the seal ring.
Suggestions for the company distributing these items: Please change the description of "Simply snap it on your bucket and start using." to "Use your fat ass to snap the bucket into the seal ring." ;)
