The pictured gun is not the Bull Whisper EXTREME. The stock is the same competition style as the Varmint Hunter except black. The barrel is the same as the Bone Collector Bull Whisper. The scope is the 3-9 40mm AO. All different and better than the picture.
The gun doesn't feel too heavy and it feels very well balanced. 1400 fps with alloy pellets will make quite a bang from the sonic boom, but they don't shoot straight. 7.9 grain Crossman Premier Hollow-Points are the ammo I like for this gun. If you want more force, use 10.5 gr Crossman Ultra Magnums.
The scope has very nice optics. It is not however, strong enough for the spring recoil of the 'Extreme'. Save yourself some time and money, and get a good scope. I tried 4 different scopes and it broke them all. I now have a Bushnell Sportsman, 4-12X40 AO on it and it is very accurate, and the extra weight of the scope helps absorb some of the shock. The mount rings didn't hold up well when I over-torqued them. I had to replace them with NC Star High mounts and take the rail off. I then had to put a stop screw in the rear mount because the scope kept walking towards the butt-stock.
You must learn the artillery hold to get a consistently accurate shot. Balance it loosely on your off hand, and let it jump forward with the recoil.
The cocking effort is rated at 41 lbs but it is so smooth that it doesn't seem that difficult. My 11 year old can operate this gun with no problem. If you can't don't feel bad, my 11 year old son is extraordinarily strong.
I can't believe I have this gun because I wasn't even allowed to have a Daisy BB gun when I was a kid. It's like having a Hyabusa as your first motorcycle. OK, maybe I had a dirt bike and a Rebel first, But a Hayabusa? Who needs a Hayabusa?
and really, who needs such a fine powerful pellet rifle?
Got Varmints?
