However, on the practical side, the primary thing you will learn from the book is PUT STRAW OR HAY MULCH ON EVERYTHING IN YOUR GARDEN AND YOU WILL HAVE VERY LITTLE WORK TO DO WHILE ENRICHING YOUR SOIL. There, I just saved you some money.
It's still rather sweet, I'm just not sure that beyond the primary tip I just revealed, you'll gain much else here that you can't gain from any other source on gardening. Ruth still rocks though!

I've been gardening "her" way for about a year. My newest veg garden is thriving – there has been no rain for at least three weeks & temperatures have been in the 30C++s (with humidex, almost 40C) for a week. I have not watered the garden since seeding back in late May (it's a good thing, because it's out of reach of hoses). It's July 17 today. I haven't watered any of my gardens, and they're all thriving!
It's not a typical gardening book, but it contains everything you need to know.
