Great alternative to electrical tape, it doesn't create a huge bulk on wire harnesses like the tape does and also has many other uses besides wire insulation, since it creates a protective rubber coating (check picture) you can get really creative with this, just make sure you have a clean surface free of oils (use alcohol) and dust and it sticks real nicely.
Also make sure to use it on a well ventilated area since the fumes while curing are quite strong, after curing the odor is not strong anymore, just smells like regular rubber, amazing product worth every cent, recommended.
I use it for many different things. Because this is liquid, I put it on anything I want to protect. Works perfect on bare wires. I have used it as cushioning between two objects. I have even put it on sharp edges to protect from cuts. This takes a few layers but turns out nice. Once it dries, it is nearly impossible to get it off and forms, what feels like, a soft rubber film.
My most recent use of this was for soldering some Cat5 solid core wire to an RGB LED strip light. Both of those items being small and delicate, once I completed my micro solder job, I actually used a very small thin artists brush instead of the large applicator attached to the cap of the liquid tape. The artists brush allowed for easier application to the 22Ga wiring and the very small terminal connections of the LED strip.
Applying small thin coats with the artists brush is very easy. One thing to note is to make sure you either thoroughly shake or mix the liquid prior to use. The thin coats i used dried in a matter of minutes allowing for a quick buildup of a protective coat(about 15 minutes total to get a buildup to my liking).
Overall this is an excellent product and i highly recommend it for any electrical work dealing with very small wiring/components as it is vastly superior and easier than trying to use standard electrical tape. Also the results look very professional if care is taken in application.
As for the overall use of this stuff, it's great. Does exactly what'd you expect. I use it instead of shrink wrap tubing when I can't quite fit some shrink wrap tubing in my application. This stuff is pretty useful.
Only downside is that it'll dry out in the pot over time since working with it usually requires keeping the pot open for a couple minutes at a go. It has a very strong naphtha odor while wet, so that's pretty obviously the solvent this stuff uses to stay "wet". You could probably keep it fresh by adding a thimbleful of naphtha to the pot whenever it starts to get noticeably thicker.
