About the Author

Jim Davis was born on July 28, 1945, in Marion, Indiana. He later attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where he distinguished himself by earning one of the lowest cumulative grade point averages in the history of the university. (Incidentally, a fellow classmate named David Letterman earned the other). The Garfield strip was born on June 19, 1978, syndicated in forty-one U.S. newspapers. Today it’s syndicated in more than 2,100 newspapers worldwide with more than 200 million readers, leading Guinness World Records to name Garfield The Most Widely Syndicated Comic Strip in the World. Davis has had many successes with Garfield, including four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program and induction into the Licensing Hall of Fame (1998), but his most prized awards are from his peers in the National Cartoonist Society: Best Humor Strip (1981 and 1985), the Elzie Segar Award (1990), and the coveted Reuben Award (1990) for overall excellence in cartooning.

Everyone knows Garfield, the fat and lazy orange cat. Garfield has never failed to make me laugh. One thing that I greatly appreciate about Garfield is how Jim Davis always manages to keep Garfield funny without using dirty and obscene material and as opposed to a majority of cartoons today that try to be funny by being dirty, Garfield is funny in a good clean way.

Join Garfield's safari of fun as he eats more Italian food, picks on Odie and Jon and even has another birthday.

This volume contains Garfield comic strips from 4-27-08 to 11-22-08.

It's Garfield on the internet! I've still got book number one from back in the dark ages, but now I'm collecting his new books online and loving it.
How lazy can I get...or, as I like to think of it, how much more efficient can I get? :)
Garfield would be proud. Buy a Garfield book and have a laugh!

The garfield series as been up and down. Most people thought the series was done after the 11th book. However, Jim has found new ways to keep the series alive with the new TV series or books on Oide. I would like to see more characters (Adlene, Doc boy). I just wish they would put them in didgital form. I would love to be able to pull them out and laugh whereever I am.

I have been collecting Garfield books since the beginning and have all issues to date. What can you say about Garfield? Either you're a fan or you're not. To me, they're great.

Jim Davis' Garfield is still able to make us laugh after all these years, and doesn't show any slowing down. Looking forward for Book #53!!

I don't like Garfield, I LOVE him. Garfield is fat and funny. In this book he pulls some pretty funny stunts. I really really really really like Garfield. I could just hug him. Although he would be pretty heavy. GARFIELD RRROOOCCCKKKSSS
