This is a book about love, determination, loss, forgiveness, hopes and dreams. It speaks to what it takes for individuals to overcome obstacles, but also of joining forces and working toward a brighter future for the country.
An easy read that kept me interested and eager to return to reading the book.
Fantastic storyline. Smooth flow of actions and dialog. Ms. Stern wrote her dialog in such a manner that each scene was realistic and believable.
Ms. Stern also smoothly wrote transitions within the story very well. There was never that stilted transition that some authors have difficulty writing! She did not bog down the story with anything unnecessary, which I like very much. I became invested in the character's lives and feelings.
I would highly recommend The Garment Maker's Daughter to anyone interested in early unionized America, the immigrants who came to America to find their dreams, or simply to view a way of life past.
5 stars for a fantastic book. I could not stop reading.
