I have tried several GPS navigation systems from Nextar, TomTom, Megellan and Garmin. I have to say that nothing beats a Garmin. I purchased this unit as a spare since we have six registered vehicles at our home. Besides the great value for this particular model, it offers everything you need. The screen size is a perfect size, the vivid bright colors, Lifetime maps to the split screens when exiting a highway. I can even chose the type of vehicle icon I want to use!
Besides the typical features such as Home address, favorites, Points of Interests, 3D settings, latitude and longitude coordinates, it also displays the speed limit of the area you are in. The speed limit as well as your current speed displays. If you are going below or above the speed limit it displays in a red font instead of black.
Finds satellite signal very quickly and recalculates route fast if you missed your turn.
Sure there are better GPS systems out there if you are willing to spend a couple hundred dollars more. If you are looking a basic dependable GPS that is affordable, this is it.
