Reading Samuel Crowell's The Gas Chamber of Sherlock Holmes is a little like stumbling across a rational mind in an insane asylum years after being taken hostage by the inmates. Following prolonged immersion in clashing dogmas, the dispassionate use of evidence and logic to arrive at a sensible conclusion comes as a jolting but thoroughly pleasant surprise. And Crowell's modesty in stating that conclusion tentatively, knowing that genuinely rational inquiry will and should be superseded by later efforts, is an equally refreshing departure from polemical norms.
Drawing on establishment and revisionist authors, along with a careful scrutiny of German source documents, Crowell deftly evaluates contending claims arguing that Nazi "gas chambers" were (1) weapons of extermination (2) disinfection chambers (3) bomb shelters designed to protect against aerial gas attacks. Aligning eyewitness testimony with the material and documentary record, he sketches out the basis for a rational opinion, putting readers in a position to make their own judgments, without first requiring that they join in partisan warfare. Thanks to this effort we no longer need choose between delusional orthodoxy and strident dissidence, but can simply weigh evidence. This should come as a relief to everyone, while hopefully expanding the number of readers who can move beyond ritual denunciation and actually take the gas chamber debate seriously.
Crowell's work contains not a trace of anti-Semitism. He makes no attempt to whitewash Nazi racial policy, which he characterizes as a "shameful and disgraceful chapter in Germany history," even if "we assumed revisionist theses to their maximum extent." The important consideration, he notes, is that "we would still be dealing with about a million dead European Jews, who died as a direct result of Nazi persecution, plunder, forced labor, deportation, and yes, mass killing." As for his personal beliefs, he says, "they remain what they have been for thirty years or more," that "there certainly was a Holocaust in the sense that Nazi Germany persecuted and massacred many Jews," with the likelihood "that this massacre ran into the millions." Philosemitic crusaders, please take note.
A self-declared "moderate revisionist" who clearly values the standards of rational investigation, Crowell avoids exaggeration, misrepresentation, and self-righteousness. He shows no reluctance to admit when a conclusion is debatable or when the evidence is open to varying interpretations; and he is able to perceive shortcomings in the views and tactics of those who share a revisionist stance - and even some merit in those who do not. This adds credibility to his analysis, and marks him as a rare breed of intellectual who actually does what he is supposed to do: face up to facts and plausibly explain them. It is truly sad that on such an important topic his open-mindedness is all but unique. --Michael K. Smith, author of The Madness of King George

Typhoid, et al, is spread by lice. While the prisoners were disinfected by having their heads shaved and given showers, their infected clothing, swarming with lice, was treated somewhat differently. It was all piled into small chambers like ovens which were then flooded with the most powerful disinfectant on the market - Zyklon B. (Yes, Virginia, Zyklon B is a disinfectant.) And, contrary to myth, Zyklon B does NOT kill within minutes, it takes hours, sometimes even as long as a day to do its work. And it wasn't just delousing clothing which those chambers were used for. Towards the end of the war, a great number of the disinfectant chambers were modified into bomb shelters which explains why the doors had all the earmarks (rubber seals, eye holes, etc.) of civilian bomb shelters. It also explains why most of the doors to the modified chambers opened from the inside.
These facts were obvious to any onlooker after WWII; unfortunately, the ones 'looking' were nearly all Soviets who had a vested interest in turning the Germans into even bigger monsters than the Russians - which took some doing. Frankly, hell on earth began with the Russians, not the Nazis. Bluntly put, the concentration camps of the Third Reich were 'inspired' by the hellish example of the Russian gulags. The Soviets also led the way in mass exterminations as the wretched Ukrainians fatally proved. All in all, the Soviets produced piles of corpses which dwarfed those supposedly produced by the Nazis. I say 'supposedly' because the proof of mass killings in Nazi gas chambers given at the Nuremberg trials was nearly all generated by the Soviets and, even at a quick glance, is highly suspicious in nature. The suspicion gets even higher when one discovers that a disproportionate amount of Nazi's 'confessing' to their part in mass killings in gas chambers didn't live to testify at Nuremberg. Their written confessions were instead produced by the Soviets who even then admitted to cutting and pasting (and deleting) willy nilly. Aiding and abetting this story of 'mass killings in gas chambers' was a public which wanted to believe such a thing existed. All in all, it didn't make for a calm logical approach to the subject.
But Samuel Crowell has done just that in this brilliantly written book which debunks calmly and logically the belief that mass killings in gas chambers were the aim of the Nazi concentration camps. His logic, however, threatens a vast number of people, specifically the Jews, not to mention the entire nation of Israel, who benefit monetarily and psychologically from the belief in mass killings. And they do not react calmly to this kind of threat to their belief which is why Crowell has been forced to publish under a pseudonym. I am frankly surprised his book hasn't been blacklisted by Amazon; it is to their credit that they have not done so - yet.
This is why I strongly urge everyone to read this book while it's still available. It tells a truth which must be shared.
He brings up points that help explain the mindset of the times and the reasoning why the Germans were doing what they did. Oddly the gassing claims has its roots in the First World War, and the fears and anxiety of its use before the second world war. Also of great interest was the explanation of the bomb shelters and them being equipped to prevent exposure to Mustard gas, which was a threat at the time by the All lies. Shelters were made to high standards for the day in even the labour camps. Unfortunately it made the accusations very easy for the All lies who chose to ignore motive and reasoning for their construction.
There is fresh information here for those who prefer a more truthful and balanced account of the "Holocaust".

The analysis discovers and reveals the beliefs and attitudes dominating among the people dealing in the information in the manner of the finest products of the craft of historiography, in keeping with the extensive credentials claimed by the pseudonymous author. Of course, those credentials can never be confirmed so long as the author avails himself of the protections of anonymity.
In that the analysis seriously calls into question the accuracy and even truthfulness of many important elements of the legally mandated Holocaust story, the author's choice to remain anonymous is more than understandable, regrettable though it might be to "him," his fans, and his enemies.
After reading this book, I realized that my understanding of the Holocaust story, its origins, and its true meanings, had been deepened profoundly.
The book is invaluable because this must surely be the Holocaust establishment's strongest weapon - the sheer incredibility of the revisionist proposition. How could such a deception have taken place? How could all those survivors be so wrong in their testimonies? How could all those perpetrators be so wrong in their confessions? How could all those documents, unspecific as they are, have been falsified? Arthur Butz called his groundbreaking revisionist study "The Hoax of the Twentieth Century", but a hoax of this size and nature just defies belief. Conspiracy theories rarely convince, nor do those who propagate them, so if revisionism is to have any credibility at all, it must demonstrate how, if false, the Holocaust narrative, as we know it, came to be.
This book does just that. It is the kind of book that lights a match in your mind and changes you forever. Samuel Crowell describes himself as a 'moderate revisionist'. Well, maybe he is, but along with that small, brave band of 'immoderate' revisionists, Crowell sets us free from the false god of the Holocaust. Read it.
