The Gatco 786 toilet paper holder was exactly what I wanted, the price was fine and it was delivered quickly, in excellent condition. However, the seller's on-site descriptive material did not point out that another Gatco part is necessary to install the T.P. holder. The Gatco instructions packed with the holder does make that clear. I checked my local Lowe's for availability of the part and found that, though not in stock, it was available for store pickup in 3 days. So, an annoying hiccough that really shouldn't have happened, adding another 3-4 days to a small project.

Looks nice and works well so far.

I had to buy one with a cover because my cats kept shredding the roll, and it does a great job preventing that. I only wish it was a little further out of the wall to accommodate 2-ply rolls. Right now a full roll gets stuck and has to be turned by the sides to get the paper out, hence 4/5 stars.

Franklin Brass 9097SN Recessed Paper Holder, Satin Nickel on the other hand has plenty of room for the big rolls, but doesn't come with a cover.

Received this product very quickly from the shipper. Product was undamaged and in good condition. Unfortunately either the product description was not good or I did not read into it enough. I bought the suggested backer for installing the holder. The only issue was, I was installing the holder in a vanity with no back support for the holder. I made a brace out of aluminum and installed the holder. Works great and looks good!

This was supposed to be "the answer" to our pets love of shredding the toilet paper......it wasn't. We just have to keep the door closed, which I do not like. But, I will say that it is a quality product that is all they said it would be and looks nice, but did not solve our problem.

I was making over an 80s bathroom in a 19th century home and "ripped" out the old holder. I really didn't want to put another recessed holder in it's place but at the same time, I didn't want to do any wall repairs in this somewhat small space. I ordered this because the local big box hardware store had nothing acceptable. It arrived shortly thereafter and was installed the next day. I love it! It looks very cool in my modern/rustic/farmhouse bathroom. The flap makes it. It is sturdy and smart-looking. Would order another one if my other holders were recessed as well.

As other reviewers have said, it drags a bit when you put a new roll of toilet paper, such as Charmin Ultra Soft. After the first few layers come off, it rolls fine. I find the covers makes it a bit harder to tear off sheets at the intended seam. We don't have puppies at the moment, so I can't say how effective the cover will be at repelling nibblers.

Looks good yet I cannot use with double rolls

This was a nice addition to my bathrooms, my only problem is that the double rolls don't fit. I would have liked to know this as I was forced to grab pliers and remove the lid so I could insert the bigger or fluffier rolls. It works well with regular sized rolls.

The idea works. The cat leaves the TP alone. The problem is that it is to small for the big rolls of toilet paper. It must be an old design. Also it did not come with the hardware to hold it in place. That was a seperate purchase.
