BEING A PREVIOUS GATEWAY CUSTOMER, THIS WAS AN EASY CHOICE FOR ME. IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED (EXCEPT MONITOR) TO GET UP AND RUNNING QUICKLY. IT HAS A HUGE HARD DRIVE AND 6GB OF MEMORY WHICH IS PLENTY FOR THE AVERAGE USER. A BEAUTIFUL CASE PLUS A KEYBORD AND MOUSE AND PLENTY OF USB PORTS PLUS 2 USB 3.0 WHICH SPEEDS UP YOUR UPLOADS OR DOWNLOADS. FOR THE PRICE, IT WOULD BE A WISE CHOICE FOR A COMPUTER.

The computer was great quality and I've had absolutely no problems with it. The only challenge was learning Windows 8, but that has nothing to do with the product itself. As soon as I downloaded the Start button and menu to look and function like Windows 7 it's been fantastic. Thank you for such a great product!

Amazon dropped the page for my predecessor to this model, so I thought I would comment on how what is the same computer with an older Core i3 (2140 as opposed to 3220 or 3240) would do after over a year of ownership. To put it simply, it's just worked, but then again I got Windows 7 by buying the predecessor to this model. I would have liked integrated Bluetooth, but Windows 8 can occasionally live up to it's billing as the new second-generation Vista, which is great for those who like Vista's computing model of delegating all computer administration tasks to a Windows Server system or if you're a home user, Microsoft acts as the workgroup server for your Windows 8 PC.

I like the idea of an interface that is the same across platforms, which Windows Phone 7 and Windows 7 for desktops/laptops and first generation tablets and ultrabooks most definitely were not, but c'mon now Windows 8 chose the most ugly UI to go on all three/four/five devices.

I mean, take the Charms bar. If you love it, you love it and more power to you. But I remember the days of Vista where the taskbar was so far from Apple's dock that you had all sorts of third party dock accessories that popped up much like the Charms bar now does. Plus Windows Vista's old-school taskbar had notifications every bit as annoying as the (burnt) "toasts" and (Lucky) Charms Microsoft sends your way with 8.

Of course, if Windows 8 is that awesome, then more power to you. I read the reviews and instead of redeeming my $14.95 Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Option, I dug deeper, compared the reviews to RTM Vista, and then I saw that for whatever redeeming qualities Windows 8 may have, it probably is a new Vistah.

That said, if you can stomach Windows 8, this PC has everything my predecessor model does plus Bluetooth, so it should be an ideal next-generation PC.

It's recommended, but only for those who can stomach Windows 8. As is its successor the UB2B.

I bought this PC as a HTPC to run my movies and music on. So far so good.
Pros:
Build-in Wifi Adaptor
HDMI
1 TB HD
i3 processor
Nice optical drive

Cons:
None, for the money I got exactly what I wanted.

Do not waste your money on this desktop. I bought one a couple of years ago and every now and then it just won't power on. No lights, no hard drive spinning, no nothing. Gateway does not want to address the issue, they won't even pick up the phone, your call gets re-route to a company that just provides software support. Really bad customer service from Gateway. Stay away from it...

First I love the super fast delivery I wasn't suppose to get it until next week between the 16th and the 18th I got it Friday the 13th!!!

Second The computer is perfect!!!, I was really hesitant on buying refurbished but let me tell you as soon as I pulled it out of the box my fears were gone the computer is pretty much brand new!!! The keyboard, mouse, PC is all in perfect condition.

Third the setup was fast and only took minutes to complete before I was on the internet surfing like normal. The horror stories about Windows 8 I'm not seeing it, if your a long time Windows user then you should have no issues at all with Windows 8. This computer is literally plug and play take it out the box plug it up and use it as normal no having to read through manuals and instructions just to get it started.

Overall I'm so glad I made this purchase, It looks great, runs great, quiet, and I would highly recommend buying this computer especially if you are using a Dinosaur in the computer world like the one I was using lol. on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it an 11

The computer is awesome. Windows 8 not so awesome. I learned that many of my older printers and faxes would not work with windows 8 and there are no software updates to make them work.

The unit it self is good for what it has. It isn't so good for what it doesn't have. Processor speed is good. Moves about the web much faster and doesn't want to freeze up like my previous tower. Which had Windows XP on it. But it is pretty much bear bones when it comes to any other software. Haven't decided if I am going to keep if for that reason. Would be much better if it had Microsoft Office loaded on it. As it is that is going to set you back about $140.00 if you want it. I was not use to the screens that came up when I first turn it on. But I was able to find a desk top screen which made it easier to get around with. Switching between different windows isn't what I am used to. Besides the DVD-Super drive, It also doesn't have any thing other than a SD/xD/MMC/MS Pro card reader. There is a slot it the front for Smart Media and compact flash but they are not there. It does have HDMI and wireless LAN-Bluetooth capabilities. So I hope that is helpful to any one else that is considering purchasing one of these.
