Using a factory made anaglyph DVD, I compared these plastic lenses and the "cardboard" style glasses. The cardboard style won hands down. The cardboard style produce a far superior 3D image, with almost no ghosting. I thought these plastic lenses would be even better than the disposable style, but they are actually worse. Not only do you get lots of ghosting of images with these plastic lenses, but they almost give you an instant headache as soon as you put them on. The cardboard glasses I used in the test did not give me a headache at all or make me nauseated.
I also did a test comparing these plastic lens glasses vs. cardboard style after converting a clip using multiple 3D conversion software (2D to 3D) and the cardboard style still does a much better job. It's just a pity that the cardboard frames aren't as durable or give a wider field of view. However, those are things I will put up with though to have a fairly good, clear 3D image.
There are made of brittle plastic. I pulled one of the ear pieces a little too far, cause they are pretty snug to the face, at it just snapped. I thought...Hmm. I didn't care to much as I only needed one maybe two at a time so I have two to three backups. I got what I expected for the low price as they do work. Just be gental with them.
We soon found that the curved lenses were as functional as they were "fashionable".
By also tinting peripheral vision we found it easier for our eyes to adjust and enjoy compared to the cardboard alternatives. Comfortable wearing and lightweight we now enjoy marathon 3D movie nights.
Edit: Lost one star since the red/cyan setting is the default and some players, like YouTube don't have the red/blue setting to prevent ghosting on red channel.
I'd buy it again, because our purpose is intermittent gimmicky viewing of living room 3D videos. They work fine for that.
If I was going to use them a lot I'd pay more for something better.
I thought that the glasses are gonna be too small to fit on my head, but the size is just so good. I bought 8 pairs to watch movies with my family, and no one complained about them.
