Top customer reviews
I have mounted a Behringer 1832 Mixer on the top rack, in the front rack I have mounted: GTD audio Cordless Mike System, dbx 1066 Compressor/Limiter/Gate, Yamaha EMX 512sc Power Mixer, a Monster HTS 3500 Referenced Power Conditioner and an in ear cordless monitor system is mounted inside the case.
The height of the case is ideal for me (5'11"): with the wheels on and the top console propped up, the top console is at a good height for using a touchscreen or audio controls.
As with all Gator Cases, the panels have a nice rubber gasket that adds some water resistance in case you are loading/unloading your equipment in a rainstorm.
On mine, one of the screws for attaching the casters was cross-threaded. Fortunately I had an impact driver to unscrew it. I was able to file and re-use the slightly damaged screw.
The handles come into the rack space slightly. If your equipment conforms to standard rack units this will not be an issue. If you have any equipment that is nonstandard (for example if the casing literally rubs both rails upon insertion), you will only have 2U of usable space in the middle of the case (between the two sets of handles), and 1U of usable space at the very bottom of the case. Again, this will only affect equipment that does not comply with international standards. Officially, rack-mount equipment for a 19" rack should have a chassis width of slightly less 19" wide.
I will be glad to revise my write up when and if the problem is resolved. I surely don't want to spend an additional $60 for locking
