This is another great ratchet from Gearwrench. It is part of the 84 tooth, comfort grip family. Also it is long, 15+ inches. I have owned Snap-On ratchets for years. But after selling the last ones when I stopped being an auto tech, I could not justify spending that kind of money again. But this one has the same high tooth count as Snap-On, and has the same cushion grip. It is nearly identical. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanx Gearwrench.

Excellent ratchet - very good length (about 7-8") and very thin profile overall. The chrome is nice and well polished, only time will tell whether it holds up in the garage and around the house. The ratcheting mechanism pretty smooth, no "switch lock-up" issues with this ratchet as what I've encountered with the 3/8 stubby flex ratchet, seems pretty similar to my dual 80 snap on's. Of course, it's not a sealed head, so regular maintenance will be a necessity, but I enjoy my tools, so no issues there. In fact, I added a tad of grease to the mechanism to make it even smoother, and sure enough, it's smooth as butter. (the mechanism is held in place by a snap-ring on the square drive side, easy to take off) Overall, the value of this cannot be beat - for a third/fourth of the price of Snap-on, this tool is a very good back-up. In fact, most of my go-to tools are snap-on, but I've been impressed with Gearwrench so far and they are definitely ahead of Craftsman by a long shot...

Easy back resistance, and fine toothed so a short stroke of the ratchet in tight spaces. My Craftsmen stubby 3/8 broke the inside teeth when I pulled hard on its short 4 or 5 inch handle, and I only used hand pull, no extension or cheater pipe. So I replaced it with this GearWrench brand and was so impressed with the quality and cost that I also purchased this set of 1/4 and 3/8 drive flex handles. In all respects all of my GearWrench ratchets impress me. I applied a good hard pull on the long handled 3/8 ratchet and it felt firm, so I was pleased with that. I am done with Craftsman tools, and will be most interested in acquiring more GearWrench tools as the need arises.

Smoother than Matco's 88 Tooth ratchets (Matco's 88 Tooth repair kits will also fit in these Gearwrench ratchets). All of my flex head ratchets are Gearwrench, and have held up to all the abuse I've been able to give them so far. They've become my go to ratchets instead of my Snap-Ons.

I am extremely happy with these wrenches. This is my first set of high tooth count ratchets as a technician and I put them through alot. Wether its brake jobs or oil changes these give you enough room and leverage to get bolts out quickly. Nice rubber grips help when your hands are covered in oil. They are very long which helps too. The head swivels but it has locking nitches so the ratchet can stay at predetermined locations. Size of the ratchet heads are very slim too, even compared to the similar snap on ratchets. Overall very high quality and I always reach for them first when a car comes into the shop.

I have a friend who has an extended handle Snap-On wrench and I loved the extra torque of the extended length, as well as the soft grip handle. I wanted to get something similar but didn't want to spend the money on a Snap-On. Enter the GearWrench. I was a little surprised at how light this wrench is, I was expecting it to be a little heavier. The length and the handle are great, and it seems to be made well. I haven't had a chance to use it much yet, but I'm hoping it holds up well. I didn't expect to get something the same quality of a Snap-On, but I'm hoping its above the quality of a Harbor Freight tool. Will update after a few uses.

I'm a professional auto tech and was hoping this ratchet would hold up to daily use. It didn't. After a few months, the teeth began to bind up and lock up. I contacted Apex Tools (parent of Gearwrench) and got the run-around. I had to call them repeatedly to get a return authorization label sent to me. I finally received the label and shipped it back to Apex. That was a month ago. After not hearing back for weeks, I called them and the run-around started again. They initially claimed there was no record of my return. After insisting that the tool was returned, and being put on hold forever, they came back and confirmed they received the ratchet 3 weeks ago. They then said they can't replace the tool because it's on backorder. They said if I don't receive the replacement in a few more weeks to call back. This was the worst case of customer service I've ever experienced. They claim they don't have any in stock to give me but they're still selling this ratchet on Amazon and their own website. I'll buy other brand tools just to avoid having to deal with this again if a tool ever fails.

I used this ratchet today at work. Did great with a few slip-on pipes and some other fastners on a Harley. Then out of no where the teeth starting slipping. You could turn the drive with your fingers and feel the teeth grinding and slipping! I am going to take it and see if the warranty will replace it. Hopefully i just got a lemon and the next one will last! If not I'm going to buy the way more expensive but more reliable snap on
