Gear Wrench -Feet's small ratcheting box end allows access to tight spots where a ratchet and socket or a conventional ratcheting box end will not fit. The Gear Wrench moves a fastener along any length threaded rod without ever having to remove the wrench from the fastener. Surface Drive box end virtually eliminates the rounding of fasteners. This is a very handy tool if you are removing the rear brake calipers on newer model Audi A4s. The lower rear carrier bolt is an 8mm allen screw, so the tool to use is an 8mm hex driver. However, there isn't enough room to get a ratchet, breaker bar, or any other kind of tool on the back of the hex driver. Instead, the technique is to put an 8mm wrench over the shaft of the hex driver, and turn the hex driver that way.
Once you've used a normal 8mm wrench to break the bolt loose, use this 8mm gear wrench to get the fastener the rest of the way out.
The only reason I have replaced the 8mm and 5/16 wrenches is because they were used on changing battery's in cars.
No matter how careful the acid seems to get inside and destroy the ratchet.
I won't be using them for battery service anymore.
Thank you for the great, functional wrench!!!
