This was one of the most angsty intense stories I have ever read and I could not put it down. From the beginning, you know the main male character is hiding something and you are just dying to know what it is. You keep reading because every chapter leaves you having to know more about what is going to happen next. And you feel like you are living through the mental anguish that the characters experience both before and after the secret is revealed.

Aside from the mystery component, the relationship and chemistry between the two leas characters is HOT and there is a lot of build up to the sex. Some side characters will also warm your heart.

And while the book leaves you in turmoil for parts, it’s the kind of stress you enjoy and stay up all night for. But don’t worry…the ending is oh so satisfying

It's was a good story line, however the Cedric and Allison kept recapping their own versions of the events in too much detail. I felt like I was doing too much double reading of the same chapters.

Something is up in the Amazon world of book review. I picked up this book due to the great reviews and the mystery of the main characters "dark secret" mentioned in all the 5 star reviews. No spoilers the secret was an interesting reveal but it was also ewwwww as in gross.

In addition Cedric the male lead was sleazy, immature and unstable and I spent the majority of the book wondering WTF did Alison see in this guy. I kept hoping she would wise up and meet another guy.

Alison deserves better than Cedric and Cedric well he needs some meds.

If you are looking for a lifetime plot twist this is the book for you. If you like unlikeable guys this book is for you.

The only redeeming feature about this book is Alison and her work with autistic and special needs kids and adults. I wanted to hug Alison and find her a real man worthy of her love and affection.

I guess the new adult genre is about mental men with deep issues in need of therapy and teaching women that putting up crappy men is the new thing as long as he utters the magic words "I love you"

Had issue with Cedric as a character and as a man. Think he was weak and did not deserve all the breaks he was given by everyone. Think Allison deserved much better and I think Cedric lucked out she was so forgiving. Smoking, crying, lying, and always needing a woman around. Even when he knew he was in love with Allison he had some other eye candy if she was not available. Found him shallow and selfish and to unsure of himself. I did not enjoy this book bc Cedric was not the kind of guy I thought should get the girl.

The book started out pretty good. You knew Cedric had a secret and we were waiting for it to be revealed for most of the book. For a supposedly 34 year old man he was immature in a lot of ways. The "secret" dragged on forever and I found myself skipping ahead in the reading to finally get somewhere. Cedric was also full of drama. Way too sappy for a man. Once the secret was finally revealed I was kinda creeped out. I felt like his instant attraction to Allison was because of the past.
Overall it was an ok read.

I made it half way through and gave up. I actually just checked the author and was shocked this is by Penelope ward. I freaking love her other books!! this was just all sorts of bad! if I'm 50% through the book and have no idea what secret the main character's big secret is, (though I'm pretty sure i guessed it) at this point I don't care!

I'm upgrading my review from 1 star to 2 because the autism bit of the story I enjoyed reading and a it gave a good depiction of it IMO. However, I felt like it lacked depth and a genuineness that Ive come to expect from a Penelope ward novel. this just rang false for me on a lot of levels and though the. bad steers have chemistry, I'm not waiting till the end of the book to figure out what the big secret is and to see movement in the story. I'm over the oh he's so hot, she's so hot I must have her-cue steamy scene crap with no real substance.

If you are looking for sex....this one doesn't have much at all. An okay love story with a few twists, but I felt like it drug out the reason as to why Cedric couldn't be with Allison. Took to long for that part of the story to develop in my view. When they are together they can't keep their hands off each other, but none of that is detailed very well other than "I can't keep my hands off of you." Just okay...not even sure I would recommend this one.

I actually read 'Jake undone ' first, both books can be read stand alone. It's not until near the end of Gemini that the connection of the 2 books is made and the knowledge of the 2nd story doesn't effect the story line.

This book is an awesome read. A refreshingly different story line. We have our boy meets girl scenario with loads of drama to follow, but the actual story is quite unlike any I have read. Original, unique, provocative in the thoughts it brings out. What would I do in their situation? Fantastic.

We get quite a way into the story before we know what the issue is. Cedric Callahan has a secret and he wants his chance to feel real feelings with Allison Abraham before he tells her. He wants a chance at love before having it ripped away.

Raw emotion is poured into this story. Heart wrenching situations are played out before our eyes. Passionate, beautiful, loving, heart breaking, emotional connections are made. We are also given the chance to love the characters before the drama begins. A flawless story to pull on the heart strings of all lovers of soul mate romance.

I don't want to spoil the secret to the story, i think that is half the key of falling in love with the story, is not knowing till it's absolutely necessary. But this story has it's fair share of romance and heart ache and having a box of tissues handy, especially at the end. A story with a real sense of family and what it means to those who don't have them.

Great read, a real page turner that is easy to lose yourself in.
