Discovering a deadly rift once split the fae and mortal realms as the result of a forbidden love between the fae and druids, the girls dedicate themselves to the book. A covenant with the gods had been broken, and the responsibility of restoring the worlds fell to the Gemini, descendants of the illicit lovers. These chosen caretakers of the elemental stones were challenged to protect the elements from the dark mystics. With a vow to destroy all the chosen, evil forces used black magic to release the daemon from the Underworld, and the Gemini went into hiding while the battles to find them raged on through the ages.

Years later, psychics and profilers, all over the world, are being targeted for death. A historic pattern becomes obvious to a former FBI agent and an Irish psychic who, forced to join forces, are assigned to discover who or, more precisely, what is targeting psychics, and why. They also discover an improbable relationship linked to their past.

Fae mythology isn't in the FBI training manual, but when a killer disappears into a solid stone wall, it's time for Graeme to re-evaluate reality. Recently, the pragmatic FBI instructor has a hard time dealing with the woman's thoughts seeping into his mind. Psychic or not, none of this can be real. More and more he’s convinced she's the same girl who's been in his dreams since childhood.

Morgan only felt whole in her dreams when Graeme joined her. There is no doubt Graeme is her old imaginary playmate. What does it mean now that his thoughts are breaking through when she's awake? Even if he refuses to accept their connection, his presence in her mind is a comfort...until their shared dreams turn into nightmares.

Too-Short Tale for Complex Plot

The complex story that weaves between several different mythical pasts as well as different contemporary years in this novella would have been better served if told in a longer novel. Immediately when the book starts, we’re told about a prophecy that was made in a distant mythical time, then the book switches to another mythical time after the prophecy, and then it changes to modern times. After this start, the shifting continues between mythical past and contemporary times. Each chapter is relatively short, and I believe the whole story would have been less confusing if they had been longer. It feels like the book makes constant short hops, making it difficult to stay grounded and figure out the complex plot.

There is much going on in this book. An old prophecy starts to come true. Some of it we learn back when it happened, but other parts are recounted to a modern young girl who is being told about the myth. Because this prophecy has been fulfilled, bad things start to happen in modern times, and the FBI is called in to investigate.

I have an interest in both Irish legends and the FBI (watch several FBI shows!), so I found the interweaving of these two aspects interesting. In particular, the book is well grounded in the myths and legends of Ireland, specifically Danu, Dagda, and the Tuatha de Danaan.

The book has some of the common issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage. Occasionally, commas were used too often, breaking up a sentence needlessly.

This book had potential, but I found it to be a bit of a jumble. More was definitely needed to flesh out all aspects of the story.

I received this book on NetGalley for an honest review.

The Gemini Prophecy, first starts off a little sporadic, jumping from one point of view to another in a different time, however once the intrigue starts it does not stop. Across lifetimes, we follow this prophecy from origin to near fulfillment, from fae realms in Ireland. to the mortal realm in Washington, D.C. Descendants of fae and druid star-crossed lovers, this book recounts the lives of twins who are fated with a destiny that transcends all prophecies. But will they ever be able to satisfy their destiny? Or will those that they love continue to fall prey to the evil which seeks to destroy them and the universe?
