Standalone or not....

Ok so in the title for Amazon this is referred to as a standalone but I'm assuming either the author changed their mind because of fan needs lol or just because they wanted to. With that being said, this does end on a happy for now so it isn't like we r left with a cliffhanger. This was a really good book. I will admit that with the length of it we would have gotten a bit more back story of the characters but it was solely focused on the here ad now, which is still good. Zara was a strong lead character, holding her own at the obstacles thrown at her. Then you have each of the guys with their different personalities, especially vasilli. The characters were pretty back and forth when it came to the relationship aspect. There was never really a for sure until the end. All in all it was a fairly good story with a girl who loves her men being together as much as her being with them too.

This was my first (and definitely not my last) book by Laura Navarre and it was amazing! I mean…Holy Hotness Batman!! This book was?! Whoa. The spice level is off the charts! The MM is some of the hottest I’ve read and sweetest too.

But beyond the spice was this super sweet polyamorous love story and love between the harem members. There were so many times I ohhed and awwwed over lovely things. I just love this book and all the characters! ❤️

I adore the Zodiac aspects of the story and how the factor into not only the hierarchy but also the powers of the characters.

Zara is such a strong but also playful and fun FMC. Her love of diving is such a different hobby for a FMC especially one whose story is set in a paranormal world. Her conflict over the future the world wishes her to claim and the trauma she has experienced in her past is very well played out across the storyline.

Neo, Ronin, Lucius, and Vasili are all well written characters with personalities that compliment not only Zara but also all of her other mates as well. The incredible spice was definitely an added bonus to this wonderful poly relationship they built!

All in all, I enjoyed this book. It was entertaining, and I stayed involved till the end. If the author were to give us more of this harems story, I would definitely dove back in.

Here’s what I liked:

I really enjoyed the MFCs voice and personality. I loved the world and all it can offer for future storylines. The characters were super intriguing, I loved the diversity. The spice was great, if a little long winded at times. The MM was very nice, loved that.

What I didn’t love:

There was great opportunity for angst and heartbreak before resolution with these characters and the plot line, but it ended up feeling anticlimactic. All the conflict was resolved SO easily. We also kept hearing about how physically bad ass our MFC is, how good of a fighter she is. But we never see it. It’s all lip service on her part.

In all, I really did enjoy reading this. Do I think it’s a super fantastically well written novel? No. Did I enjoy it anyways for what it was? Absolutely!

Definitely give it a shot if you like PNR with a big ole helping of MM. Seriously, aaaaallllll the ⚔️. Loved that aspect.

Whew! Ok, lemme get it together here……

Holy hotness, I loved this book! My poor family got shouted at for daring to try and distract me from reading. I mean, well ok, I fed them eventually……. Might have burnt the food a little (in my defence reading) true, not what they requested (wasn’t listening, reading) but it was food and it was cooked…??? Even the smoke detector joined in at one or two points - everyone’s a critic!

Ok plot was brilliant, completely engaging. I loved the characters, loved is such a small word for the appreciation of such a brilliant, descriptive mind to bring such life to walking wet dreams….

Please consider, in the fullness of time, doing more with the queen and her consorts as I was pretty much there with them for the wild ride that was this book. So sad to be reminded that it was a stand alone……..

But yeah, please give this book a try. If you like your books 🌶🔥, you’re gonna love this book. I need my own actual copy now - cos I can see me rereading this loads.

As you can tell, my minds still in the book - this is probably the best you’re gonna get out of me at this point……whew!

I liked the premise of the book but it felt like a lot wasn’t explained or was breezed over. The magical aspect was not really given much attention; we all knew the “queen” had to learn her powers but what was the lightning voice? Was she a dragon shifter? Why did her dad want her dead?

The guys didn’t have much about them either, their personalities could have been fleshed out a bit more - other than their physical appearance, what made them who they are?
I just felt like too much was left unexplained.

It was super spicy which was fab.

I did start to get a bit annoyed with all the long words which, IMO, were unnecessary at times and felt a bit pretentious - how wonderful that the author has such an extensive vocabulary but I had to break the flow of a sentence to look up the meaning!
Obviously that’s my own ignorance and while I love learning new words, it didn’t feel like this was the time or place for it 🤷🏻‍♀️
