I had been wanting to get powered speakers for a long time for small gigs. A few months ago I bought a pair of 12" Harbingers. They did not sound that great, one of them had a really bad popping sound when turning on and off and their volume level did not match. Instantly returned them.

Then I saw these speakers but i could not find any reviews on them. I found the RS-415" had bad reviews on it and found a two good reviews for the RS-410" stating they lacked low end.

I took a gamble and ordered the RS-412's,and so far they have exceeded my expectations. Since i got them two months ago, I have only used them at house parties and inside a medium conference room as a PA, but have had excellent results. It lacks a little on the low end but its nothing a little EQ'n can't fix. The carrying handle on the side makes them easy to carry, and they have a nutplate on top to attach lights, lasers, or strobes. Ofcourse they dont compare to Mackies or JBL, but they do compare to Behringers, at a much lower cost. I read a review that Gemini does not stand behind their products and that they have poor customer service, I personally have not had to deal with them.

If I ever use them for a larger gig, i will try to update this post.

I purchased this instead of the Behringer 210d I had first intended to buy. Big mistake! I would not use this speaker to call bingo at a nursing home! The first gig I played, I quickly discovered I should have tested it first. Even with my compact mixer in the line, I was unable to clear the audio of the worst "mud" (if you gig, you know what i mean)I have ever experienced. My Martin guitar sounded like a walmart special with a fuzz pedal. Vocals sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher. (I use a Shure Beta 58 mic, so no that wasn't the problem)If you just want a big, expensive, noisy paperweight then this is your choice! Otherwise, go with the Behringer. Their 10 inch far outperforms this 12. (did i mention that it manages to be distorted and underpowered simultaneously?)
It's totally worth the extra 30 or so bucks. If you think you will sacrifice a small amount of quality by saving on this piece of junk, you would be wrong. Luckily the store i purchased it from swapped me a Behringer for the same price. I won't advertise for them on here, just wanted to warn any starving musicians away from this steaming pile. I paid 99 apiece for these little beasts!! 45to17000hz is smooth and clean!! I use them as studio monitors for my living room. If i want to be mean to my neighbors i will take them outside for a bit!! For the money, i'm hysterical!!
