This satin topcoat went perfectly over the General Finishes Java Gel Stain on my kitchen cabinets. I used a men's sock to apply this product and found that applying about a tablespoon per side was enough. I also found that applying it in quick, broad strokes was better than rubbing it in and trying to avoid streaks. The streaks will go away once the product dries. It was much easier to use than I originally thought. Also, it has a blue-ish tinge to it at first but that goes away when it dries as well.

I do woodcarvings and love these finishes. They don't run, they give a rubbed finish look, brushes clean up easily, no brush marks are left. It takes a bit of practice getting usd to not applying too heavy a coat...and takes some patience since several thin coats give pleasing results. But the drying time is fantastically fast.

Just the best I have found.

Love this poly. Goes on easily and smoothly. The result is very nice. Slightly shiny finish, more so with more coats.
I used four on bathroom cabinets, quite shiny. Used one on kitchen cabinets and I like the look.

Found out about the product through a tutorial on pinterest (MonicaWantsIt) and could not be more pleased. Slowly staining all the orange oak in my house to this beautiful espresso color and loving it. Transforms my house and looks brand new again. Best product and so easy if you follow the blog.

I found out about this stuff from Pinterest. I bought it after seeing some tutorials about re-doing bathroom cabinets.

I stained both my bathrooms and kitchen with the help this stuff! I would definitely recommend it! I'm actually going to be buying more soon! :)

Want to try this in other colors also as we used the Java Gel & it created BEAUTIFUL bathroom cabinets for us & made short work of what could have been a long & tedious project. Highly, highly recommend this!

i love this product. i used it with the gel stain which is even better than this. i dont like how runny it is, but once dried and enough coats (as described) are applied, it ends up looking awesome!! highly recommended. and just a little tip, never throw away cotton socks that have holes, they work AMAZING for putting on stains and poly.

Bought this because I'd seen it mentioned so often on DIY furniture refinishing tutorials. It COMPLETELY lives up to the hype. Goes on smoothly, dries perfectly. In the six coats I put on my dining room table top, I only had ONE air bubble that I had to sand out. With regular poly, you end up using superfine sandpaper in between every coat in order to get a perfect finish. Not with this! Saves so much time that it's completely worth the higher price tag than other poly topcoats!
