I am pretty impressed with this mount. I initially thought that the large bulging hump over the original power supply would be odd looking, but it isn't as bad as I thought. I love how this mount hides the cable and adapter. It also hides most of the Echo Dot itself so it doesn't make much of a difference if you have a white or black one. If you want to mount this with the Echo Dot above the power outlet then you will need to make sure that you have a new outlet that can hold is tightly. Some of my outlets were too "loose" and the weight of the Echo Dot started to pull it away from the wall and out of the outlet.
Pros:
* Short angled power cable is included!
* One of the least distracting Echo Dot mounts that I've come across. I love that I can't see any cables.
* Faces microphones outward from the wall so it can pick up your voice slightly bettter.
* Can be mounted so that Echo Dot is either above or below the outlet.
* Completely covers the Dot so its actual color is not very important. The picture I included is a black echo dot in a white mount.
Cons:
* A little more expensive than other similar mounts.
* Mounting it with Echo Dot on top is only viable on newer (tighter fitting) outlets.
Overall, I liked it enough to purchase a second one. While I wouldn't use this in every room, in some rooms (especially those with over counter outlets or those without furniture to place an Echo Dot upon) this is an excellent solution.

Love It Buy It
I have recently gotten into smart automation using plugs, switches, etc. all controlled through Alexa. I have a Gen3 Dot in my bedroom using a Gen 3 holder and decided to put the older Gen 2 in my bathroom to expand my voice control coverage. When I have guests over I put it in the guest room while they are here so they could have music, turn on/off the lights, etc. My Gen 3 moved around a bit at first so I liked the ability to just pull it off the wall and plug it in somewhere else no muss, no fuss! This mount has worked out great for moving it around on demand, no wires in the way and no side tables needed. As you see in the picture above it lives in my Master bath so I don't have to scream commands into my bedroom anymore and the music is there to listen to not from another room blaring loud (this is especially nice since I had just added Amazon Music Unlimited to my Prime membership). I don't find any issue with the audio or with being heard while in the mount and I love the fact that its out of the way as the only plugs in the bathroom are on the vanity between or to the side of the sinks. This mount as you can see in the picture not only keeps it off the vanity top itself but having the ability to hang it with the dot on top protects it even more. Some of the other holders I looked at could not support the weight on top. I think the replacement of the wire with the mini wire is the key, it reduces the weight considerably and makes it so much easier to put together too (no wires to wind precisely around the mount). I would definitely buy this again for the portability, safety position it allows, and the lack of impact on the audio both in and out. As the Gen 3's proliferate the older Gal's still need lovin' too so find a good place to hang it and ask her for some tunes :)

I bought this for my laundry room. I didn't have a surface to set the Dot on. Installation was pretty easy (did struggle a minute on getting dot into holder and also engaging plug (until I looked at instructions and realized the order of installation was important and then did it following the instructions and it all fit together easy).
The unit is stable enough in the outlet. I'm sure if I bump the unit a few times it would fall out (but why would I do that). I've attached a picture. I'm very pleased and will be ordering another one for my garage wall and another for my kitchen (to get the dot off the counter).
I had no issues with the Echo Dot hearing me and sound is fine in this holder.
This uses your Dot wall plug. It doesn't matter if your outlet is oriented with the wide blade on left or right or if it is a 2 or 3 prong outlet. It works in all. BUT, if you have an old worn out outlet (i.e. cords fall out easily) then this won't work well. It does rely on some friction on the prongs to hold the plug in place. My house is 12 years old and outlet had typical use so it holds the plug tight enough.

Prefect for our needs and power cord 100% hidden. Does come with a short micro USB that you use with the echo dot supplied usb "charger" for perfect fitment. Does exactly as described and does a great job doing it. Freed up space on surface and took away the visual of a cord hanging from plug to the dot.Seems well made and clipped together well. Less then minute install time! The red light you can see in pic is because it is plugged into a gfci outlet.
