The best thing you can do to make this a successful repair is make a map out of a piece of corrugated cardboard: As each component and screw comes out draw a sketch of the part on the cardboard roughly where it goes on the device, number it and poke holes in the cardboard to hold the screws where they belong on the sketch. (The pentalobe screwdriver is perfect for making those tiny holes). That way you'll know where the parts go and in what order, not to mention you won't risk losing screws to a breeze or curious child.
Almost all function returned upon finishing the repair except for the magnetic sleep/wake sensor (that works with the Smart Cover) and I believe that sensor is on this part, but could be wrong. Unfortunately, the screw securing this part stripped and I could no longer remove it to try the second . Double whammy. But of all the things that could go wrong, that seemed to be the one I could most live with, not that I had a choice.
Oh, make sure you get the correct part for your particular model.
About 3 months after replacement I lost functionality with the volume buttons. After 6 months, the on/off switch on the top of the iPad failed. Looks like I will have to replace this part again, meaning I will have to replace the screen all over again too.
