This was a replacement sensor for the original that came with the WII. The original had wires that were sucked up by the vacuum cleaner and the sensor hit the floor and would not work. The replacement sensor works great and as good as the original. Would highly recommend. Would also recommend keeping the wires off the floor-so they do blend in the right color rug and get sucked up by the vacuum.

I originally had one of these before and it worked great, until my cat chewed through the wire. I guess thats a flaw to consider that it is wired, but compared to the wireless sensor bars that are out there, the wired one is oh so much better.

I bought this to replace a sensor bar that was broken. We have a second Wii at my mother-in-laws so we were using the sensor bar from that one. This one came in so we tried it to make sure it worked. At first it worked ok on the menu although it seemed to lose the remote a little. Then we tried it with some games. First, Super Mario Galaxy 2. This sensor bar would not pick up the signal from more than 6 inches. And that is literally 6 inches not feet. So, we tried Epic Mickey. Same situation. Weird thing is the cursor would show up and move in the menus of these games but in the game you could not move the cursor (pointer if you call it that). Really it was off on the main Wii menu as well. Put the sensor bar from the in-laws back on and everything works. Guess I should have listened to the other 1-star reviews.

Update: Decided to take the Wii sensor bar and break it open. They are closed with a tri-wing screwdriver and I do not have one, yet. I also opened this sensor bar to use the wire to fix my original Wii sensor bar. There is a huge difference in these. The Wii has 5 of the "sensor lights" on each side. These only have 3 on each side. Also, this product was very poorly put together. The solder job was awful on this item which aided in it functioning poorly. On the other hand the wire was identical and I soldered it in to the original and now it works great. So, if you need a wire for your original and have non this item could prove useful.

Overall the product works well, although there were minor problems the first day. The adhesive for the stand didn't work (I used my own). Also, the sensor didn't seem to work properly at first. After the sensitivity was adjusted in the wii system everything worked well.

This item is a great replacement for the original sensor bar that came with the system. The only complaint I would have is that it really does not come with any instructions. We did have to reconfigure the sensor bar (pg. 52 in Wii operations manual). If I had not read other reviews I would not have know to do this. This information would be best if included with the item when purchased.

First, you should know that this is NOT Nintendo brand. If you are looking for Nintendo brand, you'll have to look somewhere else.

Second, this works just as well as the Nintendo brand. There is no noticeable difference in the quality or performance. The packaging it came in wasn't as pretty as something Nintendo would have designed, but who cares about the packaging, so long as it works?

I did not even have to recalibrate this thing. I just plugged it into my Wii, and it worked perfectly.

I will say that I had to replace my old one because my cat chewed through the cord. If that's why you're looking for a new one, try getting a styptic pencil damp and rubbing it onto this new cord before you install it. The aluminum taste won't harm kitty, but will keep him or her from chewing. It's also not a bad idea to use tape to stick the cord down in such a way so that it does not entice kitty with dangling fun.

We had to purchase a new sensor bar after the original was sucked up in the vacuum. I was a bit wary because there was such a variety of prices, but figured I'd try and get off cheap before sinking a ton on cash into this. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this one works well, possibly just as well as the original. We haven't noticed a difference between the two.

Wow! I never thought I'd find just the sensor bar and would have to buy an entire new WII kit! This sensor bar was in box and specifically for the Wii. Perfect! Plugged in and works perfect - is actually built better than the original one! Price was great and shipping time was exact! Thanks
