I wanted to get a second location for my Wii System. Instead of unplugging all three cables (including moving the sensor bar) I reasoned that I could get a second Sensor Bar, a second Power Adapter and a second component cable.

I bought all three from Amazon: The power adapter and sensor bar came from Yoomall, and the component cable from Mycarringcase.

I mention all three of them together as they all needed to work for the Wii to work in its new location. I picked these three after reading the reviews on Amazon in December of 2010. I suggest you do the same now, as things may have changed. At that time, these looked the best to me.

They all work fine, so far, after about two months of use. If one should fail, I will update the review. As of now, I am a happy camper, and can now bowl from two different locations in my house!

First, you should know that this is NOT Nintendo brand. If you are looking for Nintendo brand, you'll have to look somewhere else.

Second, this works just as well as the Nintendo brand. There is no noticeable difference in the quality or performance. The packaging it came in wasn't as pretty as something Nintendo would have designed, but who cares about the packaging, so long as it works?

I did not even have to recalibrate this thing. I just plugged it into my Wii, and it worked perfectly.

I will say that I had to replace my old one because my cat chewed through the cord. If that's why you're looking for a new one, try getting a styptic pencil damp and rubbing it onto this new cord before you install it. The aluminum taste won't harm kitty, but will keep him or her from chewing. It's also not a bad idea to use tape to stick the cord down in such a way so that it does not entice kitty with dangling fun.

I bought a Wii that came with a wireless bar instead of the wired one. Between needing batteries for the bar and for the controllers, I was buying batteries every week. The bar would go through a pack of Energizers like every 2 days. I started to rethink my decision to buy a Wii but I purchased this wired bar (very cheaply) and also the HDE remote chargers and battery packs and it has really made my Wii experience more enjoyable. So yes this product does work and as far as range, it worked when we were at least 6 feet from the tv. It just came in a small white box that said "made in china" and the item itself is very lightweight so I wasnt't expecting too much. But it works just great. *A side note, it is not as wide as my wireless bar and we did have to configure the sensitivity on through the wii console.

I ordered this as a replacement because the orrigional one got chewed on by my sons rabbit.

I just received the item today. Hooked it up with no problem.
My wii sensor bar settings was already set for below the TV.

I have not noticed any lag while playing games but after a day or so with the kids playing. I will get back to you.

My friend loaned me her wireless one but even using rechargable batteries that became a hastle replacing them every 2 days.

I have not used the sticky tab yet so I will have to get back to you on that one also.

But for paying $3.74 for this item I am very pleased so far.

Used to fix original Nintendo sensor bar

I bought this item to use the external wire to repair my original Nintendo sensor bar. I took both apart and used a soldering iron to remove the wires from both. Since the Nintendo bar has 10 sensors (5 per side) and the HDE only has 6 (3 per side) I decided to just use the wire from HDE.

If you are even remotely handy I suggest repairing your original, if like me, your animals decided to chew on the wires. Took me longer to take both apart and put one back together then it did to solder the 2 contacts and make the repair. Quick easy and affordable fix for the original.

So just like everyone else my cats chewed through my original Wii sensor bar's cord - my roommate and I went out and got a wireless one but it ate through batteries like no other. I was very happy to find this sensor bar for such an amazing price. No, it isn't Nintendo brand but it works just as great. I just put it up, straight out of the package, and played a few rounds of a game and I didn't even need to adjust the sensitivity. It's a great option for those of us who needed a new sensor. And believe me, I've learned my lesson - the cord is now taped to the TV so my cats won't get to it this time!

Needed a Replacement, This Works

I accidentally cut the wire for my original sensor when cutting open a box during a move. I can usually repair a broken wire myself, but the wires in there are *tiny* and I couldn't keep it working.

So I needed a replacement. There are a lot of options. I chose this one. It works fine and still does two years later.

4 stars. Nothing wrong with it, but there's nothing outstanding about it, either, so I can't think of a way it could earn 5 stars. It is certainly a good value for the price. If I do something clumsy and damage this one, I would gladly repurchase this model here.

When I read the description of this product, I believed it to be an original sensor bar...one that comes with a Wii. I compared my old one (my rabbit chewed the cord and I couldn't patch it)to this one, I noticed the difference on the back. Mine had a Nintendo logo, this one doesn't. I tried it and there isn't much difference from the original sensor bar. It works like it's supposed to. I'm just a little picky that's all. Overall, a good replacement. It's better than having one of those wireless sensor bars-replacing batteries for these wireless sensor bars becomes expensive after a while.
