On a positive note, this thing is very heavy and very stable when it worked.
Amazon is great and is refunding me for my purchase and just emailed me a return label.
oh my heavens where do I start?!?!?!
First of all I got this product because my 5th grade daughter graduated with 5 years of straight As. She worked her butt off to these grades and was so excited to get a hoverboard.
We chose the genesis... This is what she really wanted... Well she earned it, she got it..
Box is opened and there it is. She is so happy she has tears in her eyes. Product comes with a 20% charge. I told her we should charge it up first. She asked if she could just try it really quick. I said of course go run it up and down the drive way once and get it out of your system. We were outside literally 5 minutes max. She brought it in and into my room
I knew with previous hoverboards there were issues so I just wanted to monitor in my room the first few charges. Just make sure there wasnt a fire issue or anything like that. I personally plugged in the charger to the unit and let it charge. A few hours later I went back into to the room to check on it and noticed the unit is still at 20%.. I then went to unplug the charger and the entire charging port came out with it.. Let me remind you, this is Day 1 of having the product
Next its time to get ahold of ridegenesis customer service.. Their phone number isnt answered, their live chat is always busy ( yea like they are the only business thats busy). I submitted an email stating the problem. I get a response saying please send us a video of what happened.. yea a video.. They also want the order number and the serial number. So I email them back with the video and all the information asked immediately. It has now been nearly a month and after 4 emails to them I have received not 1 response.
So I went a step further and went to the ridegenesis facebook page. That started a week ago and the person on the other end said they were going to talk to the customer service manager and they would get ahold of me. That process started tuesday June 26th. Today is July 3rd and I asked for an update and was told #1 that I am not elegible for a return as the sticker is scratched on the bottom. I am guessing from my daughter riding that 1 time the "sticker" got scratched. I said I just want a working hoverboard. Fix the dang thing. Then I am told that this was being treated as a Product Damaged by the customer. Are you kidding me???? Like customers just buy products to break them after 10 minutes.
I was patient, I gave them every opportunity to help me out and make things right. They obviously do not stand by their products and are using excuses to get out of fixing/refunding the product.
Let me also mention that the website states 2 days shipping.. That is not the case.. The person on Facebook told me that their is a 2-3 day business business day processing time. I have included a picture from their site that says order today before 4 to have your product shipped out TODAY!! I was willing to let all this go until the latest disaster. Save your self the nightmare and do not go with this product. You will also see the scratched "sticker " in the photo.. And if anyone wants to take their time to type in the google link you can see the damage on the product that I am talking about.
For what its worth I have the entire conversation saved from their social media guy if needed..
