The media could not be loaded.

The subwoofer is significantly weaker than previous models. The distortion in the satellite speakers and the subwoofer take away from gaming, movie and music experience. I even hooked it up to my laptop to find tune the sound and it still sounds bad and not as loud as the 2.1 3000 model. You don't even need the 3 extra speakers for surround sound with ot. The lights aren't that bright or big and the remote is the little plastic cheap one. Do yourselves a favor and get the sw-g2.1 3000 thats yellow that has a subwoofer that will really shake the room. Hope you can hear the difference in the models in the video I'm trying to post. It's not even good for hifi listeners. If you want a little less punch get the 2000 version that's red also. Sorry for the dust, I've had the yellow one for a few years lol.

Had these speakers for 2 years. They sounded great, impressive deep base. Satellites are okay too. Though sometimes I wasnt convinced the outer left and right were even working while listening yo music,but while gaming I did notice them pick up sounds like foot steps or other ambient sounds. My main issue with these are the durability...after 1 hear I returned them and got a new set due to my square trade protection plan. They just wouldn't turn on one day. Now I notice the speaker connectors are in horrible shape. Bent pins and all. Not sure how this happened as the sub sits under my desk and doesn't move.So now only the sub and one of the satellites work. I'm over these now. Going back to 2.1 for computer.

First off don't let the only 80 watts fool you... The GX-Gaming 5.1 sounds really good.
some how they managed to made it sound like if you had a 150 watt speaker system playing!

Pros: Looks really pretty!
Love the fact it has a remote so that makes turn up the vol painless.
Now each speak channel plays well the [left, right, center, back, and sub].
there is also a line in to add devices like your cellphone or mp3 player but if your like me, Using Bluetooth on your computer is much better.

Cons: Nothing much to say here.

I absolutely love genius. I think their speakers are top notch and give a great output. However, with these I did not have such a great experience. I ordered these thinking they'd be a great bargain for a 5.1 surround system. I'm sure the speakers are fantastic, just not the ones I received. Right out of the box, the subwoofer/receiver for the device has a broken face plate that was slipping off. Not caring much about cosmetic issues I went and hooked them up anyway. I plugged it into my mixer and tested my PC, Korg Krome, and Arturia Microbrute with them and they all sounded fine. However after maybe 1-2 minutes the sub and center speakers instantly stop working. Thankfully Amazon did not make me return the massive thing, and I got a full refund. I recommend sticking with Genius's lower end speakers, which are just as good, but a lot less expensive, and have a lower chance of arriving broken.

Running Windows 7, using 5.1 onboard sound. Previous speakers died from years of use, but were running in 5.1 surround sound with same setup. I plugged in these babies and have spent the last 4 hours trying to find out why only 2 of the speakers worked. I enabled "Room Fill" in the hardware setup in Windows, and now I get sound from 5 speakers, but no subwoofer capability. All the "Room Fill" did was enable stereo sounds to sound like surround sound. Thus, no subwoofer still. I can't find anything on the internet about this problem. The manufacturer web site has no drivers to download.

I have configured the device in the Windows control panel over and over to 5.1, tested the speakers individually. They work fine during the setup test. But, trying to use them to play back in 5.1 surround sound is futile. Won't play 5.1 in iTunes, not in Amazon cloud player, not in a game, nowhere.

All the speakers and the subwoofer function during the test. But are essentially useless when it comes to doing what 5.1 surround sound speakers are supposed to do.

It's really too bad because I really wanted to like these. Unfortunately, however, I will be returning them because they just won't work properly.

Honestly, for the price, I find this speaker system lacking in power and clarity. I had the Logitech z506 and felt that that system was quite a bit better but one of the speakers was just blowing static so I returned the system. I saw good reviews/ratings for the Genius GX-Gaming 5.1 and was especially excited about the remote and decided to give it a shot. Wishing now I had just picked up another of the z506 systems. These are overpriced, the sub has no thump and the speakers get scratchy and distorted quickly.

Ive been using these since 2018, i dont really game with them, i usually just play music, sounds good, they are cheaply made but if your taking care of them you shouldnt have too many issues. mine still work like new, sound quality could be better but im happy enough not to buy new speakers for now

The Sub can put out some decent bass and it also sounds good from far away.
After some computer-side adjustments on my sound card's management software, it now sounds great.

CONS
LED is cloudy and cheap-looking.
Unless you know how to configure your sound settings in depth ( and you'll most likely need 3rd-party software to manage it), it will sound like garbage.

Not a plug and play, you need to configure the device manually which can be tricky if for you computers = rocket science.
Wires are short.
