From the Manufacturer
Genius brings you amazing bass enjoyment for music and gaming enthusiasts with the new SW-G2.1 1250 speaker system. Its subwoofer uses an advanced 5.25" drive unit in an ultra-rigid MDF board cabinet, so you can be encompassed by solid, deep and extended bass. The curvaceous satellite speakers with magnetically-shielded 3" cones deliver full midrange and well-balanced detailed sound. The individual control box makes it easier to adjust the volume and bass. There is also microphone jack on the control box for chatting with on-line game partners.
SW-G2.1 1250 has a 3.5mm standard input for PC game and MP3/CD player users, and a stereo RCA jack for game consoles, DVD players, and TV listeners. It also has a headphone jack for private listening. So don't hesitate--experience the 38-watt dynamic booming sound of the SW-G2.1 1250.
2.1 Satellite System for Gaming and Media
The 3" metallic drivers in the satellites make for full midrange and a well-balanced sound. The dual audio input makes the SW-G2.1 ideal for game consoles, DVD, TV, MP3 players, PCs, and notebooks. A hook design on the rear of the satellites makes for convenient wall-mounting.
Independent Volume and Tone Controls
An individual control box makes it easy to adjust volume and bass, without needing to use your software or taskbar volume slider. Headset/microphone jacks allow for chatting with on-line game partners for more convenience.

Top Customer Reviews
I researched many top brands online for 4 hours and looked for reviews of this product before deciding on this 'unknown' brand. A search for 'genius sw-g2.1 1250 review' on the internet helped me learn more details and choose this system.
Thanks to the thoughtful mounting hole on the back of each speaker, I was able to place the speakers at head level on the facing wall rather than set on my small desk because the large imac screen would block sound travel. The nice-sized subwoofer sits on the under-desk shelf.
I am over 50, and this is the first product review I've written in a long time - I appreciate a good purchase for my money, and I think you will, too.
I was actually just about to pull the trigger on the Klipsch 2.1 set (~$150). Listened to them at BestBuy and they sounded great. Came back 2 weeks later to buy them, and one speaker wasn't working on their display. Swapped the wires and realized the amp wasn't working, speaker was fine. Decided to hold off, came to Amazon and read the reviews only to find that those are full of problems.
So I started searching and came across these, read the reviews, including the one on MaximumPC, and I was sold. Just showed up today and I'm very impressed, especially for the price! As others have stated here and elsewhere, they're intended to be near field listening, not to fill a living room..but they fill a bedroom wonderfully and sound simply fantastic!
Unfortunately... I am a picky audiophile. I was excited to get myself a Logitech Z623, but I've been lurking around this system for the past months. A few days ago I noticed the price went down, so I decided to pull the trigger on it. I was a bit disappointed since I see that most people bought it for $50 bucks, while I've only seen it for $115. But again, I got the $95 deal which was good. Hopefully the price increase means that the quality has increased as well.
As mentioned above, I am incredibly picky with sound, and so far, I am noticing a serious lack of highs in this little system. Good thing is that with my computer's equalizer I was able to set it up as close as my liking as I could. Still not perfect, but it's okay. This is still better than what I previously had, so I'm happy for now. Let's see how much it lasts. Next year I'm going for the Z623.
-Very nice looking
-Decent quality feel
-Very powerful and clear bass
-Lot's of inputs and outputs
-All the cables that you would possibly need are included
-Price is a bit questionable ($115 as of now. $95 with 20% off)
-Sub completely overpowers satellites. Requires some playing around with equalizer and also getting used to.
-Very low high range
-While quality is decent, it definitely doesn't feel like a $115 sound system.
-No grills protecting the sub and satellite membranes. Extra care should be taken.
Bottom line.Read more ›
-Control center is a nice feature with solid, well-labeled inputs
-Sound is very good (used EQ to boost the midrange a bit but no big deal)
-Bass sounds good at about 60% setting (in my opinion)
-Headphone jack on my set is tight (takes two hands to plug headphones in - need to hold the control center)
-There is a very small amount of sound "leakage" when headphones are plugged in, but it shouldn't be noticeable to anyone around you
-Cables could be a tad bit short if you put the control center, say, on top of the PC tower by your feet
Overall I would definitely recommend these speakers.
Still four stars, but the sound leaking was noticeable by my roommate when the room is relatively quiet.
Started using both sets of inputs (RCA and 3.5mm). The speakers default to 3.5mm input if there is one plugged in, so I have to unplug the cord to listen to anything from the other (RCA) input. Not a big deal, but maybe something that could be improved upon in the next version of these speakers (which I would definitely consider buying).
