False Advertisement!!!.... Average Product

Be aware that this product is falsely advertised. They claim that this is "100% natural and organic soap: free from fillers or foaming agents" However, the SECOND ingredient, after water, in this shampoo is Sodium Laureth Suflate, which is probably the second most well known foaming agent (and skin irritant) next to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. I contacted them to ask them about this and have not received a response, even though they say they respond to all inquiries within 24 hours.

Fortunately, I have not had any skin irritation from this product, but any product containing Sodium Laureth Sulfate runs the risk of having contaminants that are known to be highly carcinogenic. For a product that you are rubbing on your face and around your mouth, that's highly concerning. Especially, if the company is falsely advertising their product.

I tried the product once. It certainly works better than your average hair shampoo but it's nothing special when it comes to beard shampoos. Also, it's FOAMS a lot, due to the Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Will probably return and would not recommend. Make sure to read the ingredients photo!!! Don't trust the product description.

My review is based on the beard wash. It comes in a nice sturdy plastic bottle with a pump. The bottle and pump were sealed nicely without leaks. I have a short beard so I only needed to use 3 pumps of wash to get a good lather, I could have used 2 and been just fine. It lathers nicely and creates some good smelling suds. It smells sweet almost fruity like a hint of grape, even though the bottle says “WOODY AMBER”. Very pleasant regardless. I let it sit in my beard for about 2 minutes while I lather my body in body wash. Rinsed out with ease, can’t tell a difference but I didn’t expect much after one use.

Purchase based on pump, amount of product, and price, and am very satisfied.

So far I've really enjoyed this product! I recieved it today. I'll start with the packaging. The metal box it comes in is great for storage. Each item was individually wrapped, in the box, with tissue paper. Presentation is great! The beard oil is really nice. I have a really kinky beard. This stuff smoothed it out, gave it a nice healthy shine and has prevented my beard from getting tangled. It also has a very mild woodsy/earthy smell. I'm assuming that is from the sandalwood. It's nothing overpowering at all. The beard balm has little to no scent at all. It works great in conjunction with the beard oil. It helps keep all of the stray hairs in place. Lastly the comb. It is very nice. It's a very heavy, wooden, comb. I've used boars hair brushes in the past, which can pull and be slightly ruff on your skin. I will update my review after a week of everyday use. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this product again. I would highly recommend to give this kit a try!

I bought this for my husband. He is new to beard care, so I thought this would help him go from dirty hobo Beard to sexy Viking beard.

He hasn't had any face dandruff since using this product, his beard definitely looks healthier and his face smells great! It's a light incense type smell, which I like very much.

Will post an update if he decides he doesn't like it, but so far so good!

I ordered this kit a little more than a year ago and absolutely loved the beard balm, mostly due to the scent. It had a very sophisticated smell that I hadn't been able to find anywhere else, and surprisingly my girlfriend liked it too.. a lot. I ran out of the balm this summer and ended up shaving my beard off due to some work related events. As my beard grew in again I started searching for the balm/kit and could not find it anywhere. A few months went by and after using another balm for some time, I was ready ready to shave the beard again since I wasn't able to find a new balm I liked as much as this one but decided to keep the beard and hoped this would be restocked. Just recently I received a notification from Amazon letting me know that it was back in stock, so I ordered two this time to be safe. Unfortunately, after receiving the new balm I realized that they had completely changed the scent. It now has a grape smell to it, very different from the original. The scent is almost childish, reminding me of artificial grape flavoring in candy. I really hope they revert back to the original scent, or at least offer them both.. they had it right the first time.

The balm smells exactly like baby powder. The oil and the balm both go a long way so don't put too much. I usually put 2 drops of oil in my hands then rub it on my boyfriend's face followed by a thumb size scoop of balm that I rub into his beard thoroughly. I make sure it is evenly in his beard then I used the comb to make sure it is evenly spread out. He used it the first day then forgot and two days later his facial hair was very soft. If you add too much, your face and beard can become oily.

The Gentle Vikings kit with the beard balm, oil, and comb have really helped tame my beard. I use it everyday when I get out of the hot shower. Oh, and my wife really likes the smell. I'm a big fan of this product. I never really cared much about beard health before, I did a bit of research and there are a million different ways you can take care of your beard, and I wasn't sure where to start. This kit is a great introduction to caring for your beard, and being able to grow it out without looking homeless.

Take a shower, apply the oil to your beard, comb it out. I basically started over when I used this product, applying it at recommended lasted me from the short beard phase to the long beard phase. I didn't use the wax so much while my beard was short, but as it grew it was great for shaping it. My lady also likes the scent. Oiling your beard makes a difference, people can tell, and it gets this nice shine that screams cleanliness. I'm actually running low on oil, and am planning on getting another bottle soon!
