As the other reviews show...this book is not only lucid and brilliant, but quite accessible. I've taught classes with it starting in Jr. High with gifted youngsters and with homeschoolers starting in the 6th grade.
I regularly recommend this book to homeschool moms because it is not intimidating, and they invariably enjoy it.
Also, this is PURE geometry, untainted by algebra. Probably the first and only time most students have to learn logic and the structure of argument.
A no brainer. This is the best geometry book I've ever seen, hands down.

Mr. Jacobs did an amazing job in writing this geometry book. Although there are many problems to do and the task may seem daunting, every problem counted--providing a thorough review of the subject. At the start of almost every lesson, there is an analogy relating the subject to reality. This has proven to be quite useful. Occasionally there are excerpts of comics, relatable to the topic, to add a touch humor. Over all, the book has a wonderful balance between the amount of problems and the quality of the problems. I would highly reccommend this book to any person who either wishes to review geometry or simply is taking it for the first time (such as I did as a homeschooler). Warning: If the text isn't read carefully, doing the problems will not be easy. Basically, you can't get away with skimming. Enjoy!

I like that this book presents geometry in a humorous fashion, and that its "old-school" style, rather than the touchy-feeling new way that math is taught. My only complaint is that it doesn't have more solutions to the questions in the back of the book

This is the second book on geometry which I have read almost cover to cover. The first was Geometry by Ray Jurgensen and Richard G Brown written in 2000. Each of these texts seem to me to provide a good introduction to the basics of geometry. I suspect, even someone at the college level, can learn some items which could be quite useful for math, science, or engineering courses. The author has a wonderful sense of humor, which he springles over the text. I have not read the most recent edition of this book, but I hope to one day. This last edition is 17 years younger, having been published in 2004, instead of 1987.

A really beautiful book on high school geometry. Well-written with great examples and great exercises. I used material in here to prepare lesson plans for my teacher education program and did really well implementing the lessons that were based on this book. A great resource for a math teacher.

The book is well layed out. It is easy to read and follow. Great for high school geometry students. It even has advanced topics for advanced students. All of the reviews about this book were good and it is the reason I chose this book.

The book is great, but it's far too archaic to use for geometry classes today. It's missing the CPCTC and other important theorems. Great to read during vacation if you're seld-teaching though.

Great text, very clear, no fluff, illustrations fun. I am using this without the teacher's guide as I am comfortable enough with geometry to correct the problems for which there are no answers in the back of the book (and have a student who I can trust not to look) but if you homeschool and want more support, there are better versions of Jacobs for you. This is the best text I have seen yet-- and the last of my 7 kids.
