Good cooking, not without a few issues

I like most the removable plates.It makes them so easy to clean and the product so much more versatile. When I bought this, I got rid of my waffle maker and a panini maker. So far, I've made waffles, sandwiches, steaks and shrimp and they all turned out nicely, if you follow the instructions.

There are 2 things I've noticed that are irritating, but don't stop me from using it. I don't like that the waffle batter flows out the back, if it overflows, and gets into the part of the base that tips the grill. There is no way for me to get in there and clean it, because the screws aren't standard. This happened when I took the Foreman traveling with me and was making waffles in a much higher elevation, changing the way the batter cooked (oops). I was trying to rinse it, but just realized I would have to shake out the dried bits over time. :(
Also, after a dozen or so uses, I noticed that the steam was taking off some of the color from the plastic and dripping on my counter! If I don't clean it up right away, it would stain.

Great value. I cook so much on it that it has become a stable of my kitchen. This cooks burgers and chicken very well. It also makes it so that cooking requires very little attention from me. I just cut up the meat, put it on, set the timer and go.

I don't recommend the built in timer. It is pretty useless. It can tell you that it has been warming up for 5 minutes, but the timer doesn't actually tell you that it is now at the right temperature. Thankfully, it does beep again when it has reached the right temperature which can take 10-12 minutes most days. Also, I don't use the timer for cooking your food. I just use a microwave timer, watch, or something else because the timer only gives minutes ( No seconds ).

My only other complaints about the plates are that when I put garlic on the chicken, char forms on the plate which is very difficult to get off. Also, if you are making waffles, putting too little mix is a million times better than too much. Pancake batter can be a nightmare to clean out of the back of this grill.

Wow, you'd think from this review that I didn't like it, but I actually love it. Like most things, it isn't perfect. However, it is easy enough to work around the weak spots. The freedom that it gives me to just put meat on and leave it is invaluable. Also, ti always cooks well past the required temperature without drying out the meat.

I'd buy it again.

I have had good experience with the George Foreman grill so when I saw this on Amazon as an evolved grill with all the plates I said Yes. Unfortunaly the reason I gave it 3 stars out of 5 was because of the misleading description it doesnt come with all the plates only grill and waffle. The rest you need to buy seperately. Also it was difficult to figure out how long to cook the waffles. I had to guestimate between 5-7 min. They did turn out good though and removing and cleaning was easy.

Use it all the time in my kitchen.
Great addition for any bachelor as I am.
Very easy to clean up.
You can dry wipe it off and use it again or remove trays upper and lower to wash in sink so easily.
Bets the two George Foreman Grills I bought in the past by far.
I like the adjustable lid for bigger steaks too. G. Foreman don't have that.
It is attractive as well. Mine is Metallic Candle Apple Red.
Looks good just sitting with other cooking items I have on shelve.
It is very easy to use as well.
If you read this far about this item .. I hope I have helped you decide what you want to buy.

Great Upgrade to the old Foreman Grill

When the Foreman grill we had been using for years finally expired I ordered a replacement immediately. I was very pleasantly surprised by all the upgrades -- digital display for temperature and a timer built in. The ceramic coated plates are almost unbelievably easy to clean! And another pleasant surprise, the specialty plates from the old grill (omelette, etc.) fit the new grill. Great tool for the kitchen.

After a few months the unit failed on me. The panel still lights up with digits but the unit doesn't turn on. I reached out to customer service who told me they would send out an envelope for me to mail the plug back, but nothing after weeks. I sent them an email on their website. If that doesn't work I'll deliver it personally to Mister Foreman.

When it worked it worked pretty well although the sear function didn't seem to work well for me. It's a bit counter-intuitive. Waffles come out fine although cleanup is more messy given the hinges in the back.

I'm hoping to replace this with the same model, so it's not all bad. But if the product fails within warranty and the company isn't responsive, I don't know how I can give them more than 1 star. Amazon rejected my first (shorter) draft of this review, let's see if they let me publish this one.

I love this grill so much! I did a lot of research before buying it and ordered the shallow griddle at the same time as the grill so they arrived together about three weeks ago. I have used the grill 5 days out of every week since and love it! It is set up as a permanent appliance in my very small kitchen, so that tells you something about how much I like it since it has dedicated real estate on my counter top. I have made steaks, grilled sandwiches, made burgers, cooked hash browns, hand made french fries, eggs, bacon, chicken breasts, sausages; I've grilled vegetables including bell peppers and tomatoes, asparagus and sliced onions, all delicious and fast. The grill plates come off quickly and easily and wash up in a snap. They go back on just as fast and I plan to buy the deep griddle and muffin pan plates to round out my collection of removable plates. The "sear" function works beautifully and love that I have control of the heat so I can cook everything to order without concern about having only one level of heat. I highly recommend this grill and feel like it was a really good buy for me.
