Follow Up: I have since bought another one... These things are great.
1: The styling on this one is... unappealing. It's wider when closed, it has that curve in the spine, those pointless cutouts on the side. I don't like it. The other one is all straight lines and flat surfaces.
2: When this knife is closed and clipped inside your pocket, the tip of the blade is facing back up towards the opening. With certain blades, including my favorites, the tip extends ~1/16" outside the knife, meaning you can slice yourself if you're having a particularly unlucky day.
I used to carry a small / thin Gerber in my kawki's to work every day. I open several cardboard boxes, a hadfull of enveolpes and you know just day to day stuff with my knife everyday. Everytime I turned around I found myself saying, I really need to take some Goo-Gone to this blade and sharpen it... so I would... then a week later, I'm saying it again...
If you are like me and don't have the time to sharpen your knife as a part of your weekly routine, then get this knife! It's just awesome to be able to have a fresh new blade ready to go in just a few seconds.
- Very compact, folds up to a size that's not a whole lot bigger than the utility blade itself.
- Pocket clip.
- Easy to change blades.
- Blades are dirt cheap and easy to find.
- Locking safety feature.
- Rock solid design.
- Reasonable price when under $9.
- Comfortable to hold.
- Easy to forget it's in your pocket when you go to the airport.
In summary, I can't think of a better knife to have in my pocket for everyday use. It's no survival knife for being in the woods, but it will always come in handy for daily life in civilization.
